Cut pieces.......

I started cutting pieces for the Drunkard's Path quilt I showed yesterday.  The light background with squares is one of my older Marcia Derse fabrics and I'm not sure it will work but I wanted to try it.  Some of the others are newer pieces I bought at a clearance sale.
I did a tour of the backyard yesterday morning.  The Cannas are approaching 2 feet high.

Some of the Hosta blooms are pretty insignificant but I thought these were nice.

The Purple Coneflowers are almost all in bloom now.

There is still a carpet of Creeping Charlie all across the very back of the garden.  I pull a little out each day.

I asked this bee to pose on the bloom for me.

  1. I am excited to see the drunkard's path being worked on. I just love the circles. And the fabric. I have been slowly chipping away sewing the kaleidoscope as it has all that matching to do. My garden is going crazy right now blooming.

  2. Loved walking through your flower garden with you today. I see I have some weeds in mine and that is tomorrow's project. I went a little nuts yesterday at a local store's big sale in their garden department: bought two endless summer hydrangea, 2 butterfly bushes, a peony and lilac bush and some other plants all for $28. My plants all need some cleaning out as they have gone nuts this past week. I love them all.

  3. Very accommodating bee you've got there Wanda. I am worried that I don't see enough of them, as I've got lots of blooms on my cucumber plants, but they don't seem to be producing the cucumbers. I tried removing the pollen from a lily plant that was still blooming, and applied some of it to the cucumber flowers, but don't know if it will work.

  4. I ordered another set of dies that were on sale and the drunkards path is one of them - I haven't made on in sometime but I used to make them a lot - I think I have done 4 of them and I have none of them for me! Both my grandkids have one and I sold two of them.

  5. I think a bit of the squares will add a lot of interest to the quilt. The garden is looking good. I need to go out and do a bit of weeding and pulling out grass that is creeping into the flower bed. We are getting rain today which I am glad since I have forgotten to water.
