One block........

I cut some more triangles and made a replacement block for my triangle star quilt - to replace the one I want to pull out and use in another quilt.  I didn't press this one yet since I have other things to press today and will press it then.

I finally bought some flowers to plant in my pots.  It has been cool and rainy for over a week so I didn't get this done as early this year.  Hopefully I'll do some planting today and have some photos tomorrow.

  1. Though viewers wouldn't notice a block that was "off," it would stick out to you forever and ever. Your batik triangles have inspired me, Wanda. I made 172 last evening and have both light and dark squares cut for another batch. I'm not sure how I'll assemble them or when -- I may let them marinate for a while. (Though when I say that I often get struck by a lightning bolt of inspiration.) I am tired of the gloom and chill. I managed to mow the lawn Tuesday but that's been about it for outdoors.

  3. This is a very pretty block, waiting to see what you are making that you pulled a few of your favorite blocks out for ! It's really chilly in the morning and afternoon down here, sunny today but we had rain again yesterday, perfect for weed pulling.

  4. Good morning Wanda....I still have not purchased any flowers this year, because of this nasty weather we've been having, and will probably wait another week, just to be sure. Mother Nature has been very erratic this year and I don't completely believe she's got all her ducks in a row yet.

Looking forward to the unveiling of the finished quilt top.

  5. I like the movement in the fabrics in this block. With all the rain we are getting I hope my seeds don't drown!

  6. I always love reading your blog regularly....it cheers me up. Out of curiosity....do you finger press as you sew, and then a final press at the end? Do you use steam or any pressing agents? Just curious what the pro does? LOL

  7. Hi Wanda,
As a continuous learner, I was curious as well what your pressing process is. Kevin the Quilter already asked! Thanks so much for all the wonderful color you post each day. :)
