Quilting, binding............

At 4:30 p.m. yesterday I decided I had to get this quilt loaded on my longarm.  I finished the quilting at 6:45 p.m.

That gave me 15 minutes to trim it and cut the binding so I could sew it on while I watched MacGyver.

I did the organic straight line quilting this time.

I started the hand sewing and got one long side and the first corner done.

Earlier in the day I finished the hand sewing on the tablerunner binding.

It is 17.5" x 35".

I love the print I used on the back.

  1. You are either very gifted OR loading a quilt on the longarm is not the "bear" some folks make it out to be.

  2. I love the plaid quilt on the long arm - something about the way you do plaids - I love them - and I do not have a collection of plaids :( I really do not know why I never bought any and now I try not to buy too much but to use what I have.

  3. Did you use your studio cutter for the pieces in the table runner?
I love the plaids in curved piecing. Great quilt!

  5. Be still my heart - so much eye candy this morning. I agree the backing is beautiful - like the colors of a gentle stained glass window. Your organic lines are perfect for that quilt (and isn't it funny how "not long" it takes once we actually get started . . . )

  6. How big is the plaid-quarter circle quilt? Is it going into your shop for sale?

  9. Love the plaid top. I've made 3 of that design--using the Many and Mini Moon templates. No, that's not right. Used my Accuquilt for the last one. It's all Kaffe fabrics but I've decided needs a border so gotta pick that out. The first one I did was all homespun plaids and I loved doing it. Did a string border with leftover prints. The second one is all florals that were birthday gifts from my bee friends and I think it does not have a border. I had the plaid and the floral one quilted in an all over meander. The Kaffe I just made at my bee retreat and I'm really liking your all over lines in quilting. I'm wondering if you used a channel lock on your long arm to quilt it or just how you did all those lines as it seems they are fairly close together. I'll see if I have photos of all 3 of mine and send to your email. You may have a recommendation for border for the Kaffe and the quilting as well.

  11. That was fast! Looks good, too. I'm liking that table runner a lot, too. Did you make this one with the signature die? Just curious.

  12. I love that plaid quilt. I'm amazed at how quick you got it loaded and quilted, it looks very big, I think I am very slow. Nice work.

  15. You always select the best quilting to show off your piece. Circles is one happy exuberant quilt. Happy you showed the entire table runner and backing. So pretty !
