I'm using these 2 fabrics for the back of the spiral baby quilt top that I showed 2 days ago. I started piecing it last night but didn't quite finish it. That will be today's first job.
Yesterday was my eye appointment in Chicago to check if the injection into my eye will help regain some of my vision. I talked about it here on my 2016 final recap post. The good news is that the shot is working for me, my vision has improved and swelling dramatically reduced. I had my second injection yesterday and will go back in 6 weeks for another checkup. My eyes were dilated so I didn't do any piecing of blocks last night, just worked on that backing shown in this photo.
Many prayers for success with the injection. With results this soon, you must be encouraged.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear the eye injections are working! Love the B&W prints you are using on the baby quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful news to hear. So glad, just know we are all concerned for you.
ReplyDeleteAs I missed the year end recap post, I didn't know about the vision loss. I hope the injections work and keep the swelling away. Has the doctor said if this is a treatment that will need to be continuous - or is there a chance that the swelling will stop at some point?
ReplyDeleteGreat news on your eyes! Will keep praying the shots keep working and the vision keeps improving.
ReplyDeleteLove the black and white fabrics for the backing. I am still immersed in piecing backs. Looking to order some bigger yardage.
Good morning Wanda and great news regarding the regaining of some of the sight in the affected eye. Prayers and good thoughts will continue for the ongoing improvement of your sight, even though those injections must be quite painful.
ReplyDeleteWish that sun would make an appearance. I'm so sick and tired of all this rain, gloom and humidity!
Good to read your vision is getting better...good luck with your other injection...
ReplyDeleteLike that backing....
I am so glad the injections are working! I will keep you in my thought that the improvement continues! Love those black and white fabrics!
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful news Wanda! So happy for you!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers for you, Wanda. I never look at your truly divine use of color without saying a prayer for you--and being reminded of how tenuous life is , and feeling grateful for everything we have right this very minute. Thank you for sharing your life, on all its many levels. You are truly a remarkable person.
ReplyDeleteGreat news on your eyes. I go to the retina specialist on Jan. 31. I'm 55 and they've seen a shadow. I trust everything will be fine for both of us.
ReplyDeleteVery good news about your eye. Happy Dance time.
ReplyDeleteOf all our senses, vision is the most fragile and so necessary. Hoping it all improves even more , and life continues to be good.
ReplyDeleteSo good to hear the injection is working!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Happy stitching.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the shot is working for you! That must be such a relief!
ReplyDeleteI have been checking in on my iPad and for what ever reason can never leave a comment until I redo my pass word again and again... and it still does not go through. So here I am at my desk top with a nice big screen to view the last few days. And to leave a comment.
ReplyDeleteTAW radiates with the facinating kalidiscope of color...
Bento Box, your four small blocks uniting into one super block...
May Day, Fractured Quilt, & Wonky Pinwheels all from the same block as Borders and blocks.... And each one has an awesome personality of it's own.
Full of curly twists and turns is your Snail Trail.
And always fun to see your black and white backings...
And best of all was your news of better vision... JJM
That's such good news about your eye sight recovery - I'm so happy for you. I had a detached retina operation on my left eye in 2006 and lost my peripheral vision and some sight lose. My right eye does the work for both, now it's adjusted over time. The left eye is now permanently dilated and I always wear sunglasses on bright days.
ReplyDeleteGlad your treatment is working.
ReplyDeleteLove those backing fabrics! It's great that the injections are working. That makes the trips to Chicago worthwhile. How do you travel? Do you drive or does somebody take you?
ReplyDeleteIt's remarkable, that radiation treatment in 2012, is just now, four or five years later, causing your eyesight to fail. I definitely would've thought the effect to have been felt much sooner.
Is your eyesight failing only due to the radiation treatment, and not due to the tumor/cancer? Do you know what the prognosis of the cancer is at this point? Wishing you all the best, and hope you don't have to travel too much in snow and ice!
That's very good news. Happy for you.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the treatment is working for you. I will continue to pray for you.
ReplyDeleteMy mother has also just started injections in her eye for macular degeneration. I hope you both have success!
ReplyDeleteGood news that your eyes are better. Scary to think about losing your eyesight. Wondering if I may a candidate at some point for injections for macular degeneration...
