An oldie waiting for a border...........

I made this quilt top in 2010 and have been trying to figure out a pieced  border to go between 2 light colored batik borders.  When my friend got here we played around with a few ideas and this was the favorite.  Here is a post where I tried another idea.  I have a lot more triangle squares to sew.
Before my friend left we put the Seed Packet squares back up on a design wall.  I have lots of cutting to do for the 2 rows of small squares that border this.  I can see a couple squares I want to move too.

Here is my weekly report on the wax coated Amaryllis bulb.  It has gotten a little taller than I thought it would be.

It is getting ready to bloom and it looks like it will be red.

  1. I like this border idea better than the one from 5 years ago. I think this top has sufficiently mellowed that it wants to be finished now.

  4. I love this quilt. It inspired me to do one in teals and blues, just much smaller. Anyway, I like the new ideas for a border a lot, it is more playful and just seems to dance around. Yes, it is the one!

  5. Love the triangle border. It will look terrific- very dynamic. The seed packet quilt is just so stunning. Reminds of the pop art of the 60s, but better. What a collection of florals- great for such a gray day here.

  6. HI Wanda. The amaryllis is so cool!
I like your small triangle border. To my eye, it fades into the light borders. I wonder if the half square triangles would stand out more if they were all medium to dark in value. Just a thought.
    Wishing you a blessed Christmas and a joy-filled 2017.

  11. Great idea for the triangle quilt border. I hadn't seen the quilt before . The border is wonderfully inspirational. How do you keep the amaryllis from falling over? Looks like magic.

  14. I love the border setting you've decided on, the HST middle border fits in perfectly. Looks like the Seed Packet may soon be a finish too. Exactly how tall is that Amaryllis stem?
