Red and purple portrait and other things.........

Red and Purple is finished.  I used the border fabric for the binding and attached it all by machine.  This quilt ended up 65" x 80.5" and is all batik fabric.  The purples look a little bit blue here, the camera's fault.
I sewed the backing seam and loaded this quilt to do next.  It is 96" long.

I cut a few of the smaller squares for the Seed Packet quilt.  I am ready to transfer this over to a double design wall now.  The large squares are cut 8" and the small ones 4.25".

  1. Quilts look terrific! Flowers are so full of color and life. Especially now when all the outside flowers are brown.

  4. The blue will seek you out, Wanda. :) Your 16 patches are really nice, love the one with the purples and reds...it glows! Can't wait to see the seed packet in the double wall size...are you running out of fabrics to use in this yet?

And I am happy to see the pink quilt all ready to be quilted....you may remember, when you were piecing it, I said it reminded me of peonies....it still does!
I hope you and your family have a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!

  9. I love the colours on the red & purple quilt and your seed packet top is looking gorgeous as well - so many beautiful flowers.
My last few plants survived the rain which wasn't as heavy as expected. In fact it's got a little milder during the day the past 2 days. I need to go out and clear rubbish for the last time this year. Hope you manage to get all your jobs done before the winter is upon us - keeping fingers crossed we don't get lots of snow.
