Purple day.......

I thought maybe I would finish another quilt this month but instead I decided to play in my purple stash.  This group of fabrics is all full width but less than 1/4 yard so I will cut strips from them for the 16 patch.  I'm not sure about that one that is half pink/half purple.
Here are larger yardage pieces and I have another quilt I want to cut that takes 10" squares so I'll cut it at the same time I cut strips.
This photo is all pieces less than full width and less than 1/4 yard.  I'll probably cut these with my die cutter into triangles and small squares.

The pieces that were too multi-color or just not interesting enough went back on the shelf.

One of my friends Monday brought me this huge bag of chocolate chips.  The bag at the bottom is the normal size at the grocery store.  The other bag is 6 times as many chips.....lots of cookies in my future.

  1. I brought home one of those huge chocolate chip bags and also a 3 lb. bag of walnuts yesterday. It's that time of year! :D Lovely purples.

  2. It would be dangerous to have a bag that big in my house. I can't believe all those purples! Looks to be a great quilt with all that choice.

  5. I love looking at all your purples. My purple and teal fabrics are very small. I do love purple, but for many years, I really didn't like it much. I have a charm square group of all purple fabrics but felt it was 'too' purple, guess I need to look at what you are making and do something with mine too.

  7. You do have a lot of purples! I rarely buy purple. It is not a conscious decision, but I guess I am just not into purple. I have made an effort to buy a few pieces though because I want to make a few things for my sister and she loves purple.

One time a friend brought me a HUGE bag of M&M's that I was unaware even existed! I don't remember exactly but it had to have been at least 3 pounds. Yum!

  9. December and chocolate chips fit perfectly together. This weekend, I'll begin addressing Christmas cards and baking cookies. And, I recall that I have a stack of purple log cabin blocks, waiting to be transformed into a masterpiece. So, I thank you for the inspiration and the nudge.

  12. DH loves those big (!) bags of Nestle morsels - he eats them instead of candy! You have some wonderful purples in those photos.

  14. I have some of the same purple fabrics including the pansy print in the middle of the second photo. In fact, I have a whole bin of pansy fabrics, not all purple, though. If I buy those big bags of chocolate chips, my husband raids them to eat like candy. But I don't make many cookies now since same husband can eat a whole batch in one day. Sigh, since there's nothing like a fresh home-baked chocolate chip cookie.
