I am attempting to clean off the tables in my main floor studio and these blocks were in there. This is half of the blocks and I just wanted to see what they look like on the design wall. I will probably take them down again because I'm not sure what I want to do with them.
My first Dahlia bud is starting to open. When it gets totally open I'll hold a yardstick next to it so you can see the size. It is supposed to be a Dinner plate Dahlia so I'm expecting it to be big.
I added 8 more fabrics to my "page" on the right sidebar of my blog: Kaffe Fassett fabric catalog.
Boy, I never find treasures like that when I clean off my floor- just usually dust bunnies and slivers of fabric! The rain has helped some of my flowers-especially the Endless Summer Hydrangeas and sunflowers.
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty drunkard path blocks. I look forward to seeing your dinner size dahlias.
ReplyDeleteTotally love your gorgeous fabric drunken path blocks and the way the colors come together. I'm inspired
ReplyDeleteLIKE the way you are cataloging your fabric!
ReplyDeleteWanda, do you have a standing order for a certain amount of each new Kaffe print, and do you keep a snippet of each one? I first learned about Kaffe Fassett in the early 1990's when Ehrman published his needlepoint designs. I made one (about 6 x 6). It nearly put my eyes out back then. I'd go crazy trying to stitch from a chart now.
ReplyDeleteYour DP circles are promising. I'd make enough blocks to fill in the empty spaces and sew them together.
I really like how you've put those Drunkard's Path pieces together. I'd love to have you here in my sewing room for a while just to get your input! You're the best!
ReplyDeleteLove the Drunkards Path,me specially the fabrics.
ReplyDeleteIt surprised me that your first dahlia is opening. I don't grow them although my neighbour does and I think his have started to bloom. It seemed you were always ahead. Maybe the fall blooms are different. They are beautiful.
I LOVE the scrappy DP! I hope you change your mind and decide to do something with that, I just know you'll make something spectacular out of it!
