That is a 72" x 90" quilt in that pile. I finished sewing the 192 triangle blocks last night. I will start pressing them today and then the fun begins at the design wall. I showed a few trial layouts back in May on this post. A few people expressed opinions at that time. My favorite is the zig zag layout but I will try a few things before I decide.
I mowed two thirds of my yard when I got home from the baby shower Sunday and the other one third late yesterday afternoon. It is going to be hotter the next couple days so I had to get it done. Brush pickup was yesterday morning so the branches are off my driveway and I won't have to mow for at least 6 days. Quality sewing time ahead.
It is amazing to think a quilt will be made from that pile of pieces! I can't wait to see your layout!
ReplyDeleteI thought layout #2 was appealing: the zigzag layout is "jarring" and the third one is just bland (which won't do for your work AT ALL!)
ReplyDeleteI apologize for not remembering if you mentioned this before but what ruler do you use for triangles? Can't wait to see this one.
ReplyDeleteWe've been away for a few days so am catching up here. I love the background that you are using on the butterflies. It makes the fabrics pop.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that the tire was replaced for free. It's a good thing that it went flat slowly rather than a blow out.
Enjoy the sewing time. I'm sure you will come up with the perfect setting for the blocks.
I have the same question as Lisa it looks like the corners are trimmed off?
ReplyDeleteLooking back at the post again I do prefer the zig-zag layout.
