I thought I would move the lighter blocks out to the edge to make the zig zag border more consistent. That left all of the darker blocks to use in the diamonds. I think it has lost its sparkle and life. Below is the photo from yesterday. Even though it does need a few blocks moved it is more lively than this new layout. I'll give it another shot today and hopefully hit a happy medium.
I always love to see your colorful posts and do not often comment, but had to share - I glanced at the title and thought it said 'too much twerking' :) Have a great day!
I agree with you regarding the "sparkle" element. And I have decided that I like the zigzag outer edge............but,now, the bottom seems "chopped off." Does it need another row of zigzags????
Good morning Wanda....I am going to reserve judgement until we see today's 'tweak', but know that whichever one you choose, will be the right one for you. Glad we got a little rain last night.
Don't you just hate when that happens! You'll fix it, I have every confidence in you. Both shots are already pretty, but that certain something is not quite there yet.
Wanda, I know you will keep at it until the end result is perfect!! Love watching the process....and learn a lot at the same time!! Your designs have really made me less nervous about trying new fabric/color combinations....Thanks so much for all the inspiration, and for sharing your processes and projects with all your blog readers!! I learn so much when you do your tweaking because you show the before and after, and I can see and appreciate the changes as well as the end result. Thank you! I look forward to your every post, and like that they are short and sweet, frequent and varied.

ReplyDeleteYou are right, the sparkle is in the first one. It looks lovely. I never thought plaids could sparkle.
ReplyDeleteI have had teachers tell me "Never change an answer. Go with your first impulse" I think that applies here.

ReplyDeleteOf these two options, I like the first one better. Will be interesting to see version three.
ReplyDeleteI'm no expert, but I agree with you. Tweak it some more and I'm sure it will Ben perfect.
ReplyDeletesometimes it takes awhile to reach the design you want - you can do it! you always do :)
ReplyDeleteTotally agree, Wanda.

ReplyDeleteYes, I think you're right about the sparkle. It's definitely there in the first one. Very pretty.

I may be in the minority here Wanda, but, I like the new layout best?
