Documentation.....

Several years ago I started documenting which Kaffe Fassett fabrics I had by sewing a snippet onto 5" x 8" index cards.  I got as far as #100 and never went back to finish it.  A few of his fabrics have had new colors added in recent years and I haven't added them.  Here you see fabrics 1 and 2 which were produced in the 1990s.  The only sites that have lists of his fabrics on the internet start near #100 which was produced in 2009.  A few of his early books had photos of the current fabrics.  I can't put a scan of the pages on my blog unless I contact several sources to get permission and I'm not interested in spending my time doing that.  I will just show photos of actual fabric.

Last night was girl's night at my granddaughter's house.  She and her sister (my oldest and youngest granddaughters-both in their 20s) had me over for stuffed shells (delicious!).  I baked brownies so we had sundaes with the brownies in them.  The only guy there was my cute little great-grandson.  His new brother will be born in a couple weeks.

  2. It is so interesting to see the change in coloration and pattern from these early snippets. I would have never have known.

  3. I haven't bought very much Fassett fabric over the years. Since I did most of my fabric shopping at Miller's twice a year and they did not carry it, I don't have much. I know there was one with big fish on it, maybe it was the other fellow's fabric, and I so wanted to buy some of that, but I didn't.

  4. I did not realize the top one was his first fabric! That is one of my all-time favorites! The blue in the middle of the first column on left and the green in the bottom of the second column from the left are my two favorites, hands down. I could only get a small bit of yardage of these two fabrics back then. I cherished them and so enjoyed using them. They played so well with all kinds of prints. I look forward to seeing all your Kaffe fabrics!

  6. I think by far, that first group of fabrics are the all time favourites with many people. Some of the new ones that are in the stores this year, make beautiful jackets and dresses, Kaffe would love that!!!

  8. I have both fabrics in a few colour ways but hadn't realised they both debuted in the 1990s.
