I started making these Kaffe collective butterflies about 3 months ago. I had to clean up everything in the basement twice since then and I haven't found my pattern or the pieces I had already cut. I didn't intend to make all of the butterflies right away. It was going to be a project to work on whenever I felt like it. Now I need to find the pieces so I can continue.
Meanwhile I'm still sewing the triangle pairs together. I have 112 done, 80 to go. I might cut more triangles. I just have to decide how big I want the quilt to be.
I like the butterflies. I hope you find your pattern and pieces soon.
ReplyDeleteI love my vintage butterfly quilts I have bought through the years and these Kaffe fabrics are really pretty. I'm going into my sewing room and will try to clean it out today so I understand losing something. Hope you find them, too pretty to lose.
ReplyDeleteIf you are like me, you put the pattern and pieces in a safe spot so they would be easy to find! You will run across them eventually, but who know what you might find while looking for them!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful butterflies! I have an applique butterfly pattern that was my grandmother's and I, too, have put it in a safe place and can't find it!
ReplyDeleteAre these paper pieced?
ReplyDeleteCan you share the pattern?
Thanks,

Love the butterflies. My sister loves them too and I will include some in the quilt I am making for her. Hopefully you can find the pattern for these.

Wanda, I love these butterfly blocks!! The colors are great, and the fabrics translate to the wings of a butterfly beautifully....and I really like the fabric you are using for the background, too!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like your triangle sewing is coming right along....
You are one busy lady!

Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI've been out of town for a few days and it was nice to see all your recent projects! I love the butterflies, the pink 16 patch and the triangle quilt. The close-up does show the fabrics so much better!
Oh I love these!! The background fabric is a great choice, I bought some of this design and wondered how it would fit into a quilt, now I know. Hope you find both pattern and pieces.
ReplyDeleteAny chance I could get s copy / buy this pattern? I love it? Thank you!!

I'm new to this blog and also new to quilting, and you have some amazing quilts. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm not new to organizing, however. So, with your permission, I have a suggestion. When I finish cutting, I fold and put all my scraps in a gallon zippered bag. If I need to set a project aside, I gather all my blocks and pieces, stack them neatly, and put them in a separate bag. I have cloth storage drawers in a wall length unit, and my bags can all be filed in one drawer.
It makes my life easier and my relatively small sewing room much neater and 'sew' inviting!
