Barely anything..........

I haven't taken the first colorburst piece off the wall yet and barely got started on the next one.  My 2 friends are coming over to sew today so I wanted them to see this before I stack and number the rows.  I can already see I need to change the dark green to touch the orange in the new one.
The Sneezeweed loves the hot steamy weather we are experiencing right now.  I have patches of it here and there, all coming from one plant a friend gave me about 15 years ago.

  1. Your colorburst looks like poppies through a prism to me. It is gorgeous!

  2. I really like your colorburst piece. I have never heard of Sneezewood, but I love the flowers. It was hot here yesterday, but the humidity was in the normal range thank goodness!

  3. I agree with Ramona. I see poppies also. One facing front and one tilted to the upper right. The tilted one needs a bit of a darker center (5 squares from left and 5 down) to make the illusion a bit more complete.

  5. I lacked sufficient imagination to see poppies before others mentioned them, and still I have to squint. But I like this piece very much! There's a lot more going on with value than the light-in-the-middle, dark-at-the-edges scheme that you've mastered so well.

This is exciting work to look at. I hope it's as much fun to do.

  6. I see poppies too. When I looked at the top today, I thought it looked different from before. I have to agree with Gene about tweaking it once more, it has changed. I am not good at this and have never made anything like this myself, but I see something a little off. Not much, just something.

  7. I am enjoying watching the brighter colors splashed across that piece.

  8. SNEEZEWEED ! I have this, and I've wondered what to call it. Mine is just startiing to bloom and is nowhere near as beautiful as yours. It certainly does spread, I can vouch for that !

  9. I see a very impressionistic bouquet of unknown flower provenance! It's really quite wonderful and an unexpected surprise change from the traditional "color burst" style. Have you ever done one like this before?

  10. Just caught up with all your posts, congratulations on your ninth year as a blogger, what an achievement. I clicked on the sneezeweed picture meaning to read the whole post but instead my screen filled up with these gorgeous yellow flowers. I downloaded the image in to My Photos, I hope that is all right with you?
