The photo on the left is the blocks on the design wall before sewing together. The photo on the right is sewn, with spacers added to tops or bottoms of columns to get them all the same length. It ended up 25" x 32".
My friend Donaleen is purchasing it. See here how she added big stitch quilting to the other one she purchased. I think it adds a lot of texture to the quilt. Click on her photos to enlarge them.
Donaleen did a beautiful job on the other quilt. Anyone that owns a Wandaful quilt is lucky!
ReplyDeleteLove how this turned out and Donaleen's finish of her last one was great! Much cooler and less humid here today, going out to plant some Petunias.
ReplyDeleteA great little quilt. Donaleen's stitches were a nice addition to the first one. AND her blog will be a nice addition to my daily read, so thanks for giving it to us!
ReplyDeleteThe big stitch really adds to the vibrancy of the crooked cobblestones. I can't even get things quilted on my long arm, I don't know how I would fare handquilting! Love the newly sewn quilt.
ReplyDeleteI like how she used the big stitch to enhance the quilt and also how you finished your top. It looks so big on my screen, I thought it was a bed size quilt. Very pretty quilt.
ReplyDeleteOoh, oooh, oooooh.
ReplyDeleteI am so looking forward to quilting it. I love doing the big stitch quilting... it's a great way to enjoy the fabrics close up.
Thank you, Wanda!
The top turned out great and with Donaleen's stitching it will be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteYou know, Wanda has more quilts for sale. YOU could big stitch one, too! It's fun. It feels good. Like meditation but you don't have to worry about breathing.
ReplyDeleteI love your quilts and their bright colors. Your colorwash quilts are amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.
