My son and grandson surprised me by coming over to sand down and paint my front door. It has needed some care for a couple years and I wasn't up to doing it myself.
The lady at the hardware store warned me that this red paint would look pink until it dried and she was right. It is a rosy red and just what I wanted.
After they left I mowed the grass since it was a nice cool day.
The art quilters are coming today so lots of fun ahead!!
What a fun surprise!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is always great to get a surprise like that.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift for Mother's Day or ANY day. A red door is so YOU!
ReplyDeleteMy front door is red also! What a great present! Wish I was one of the art quilters coming!
ReplyDeleteLove when the gifts for Mother's day are of time and care instead of consumables from a store. I am sure your day was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great Mother's Day gift - I love a red door.
ReplyDeleteI painted my front door a wonderful red a couple of years ago and I still love it!
ReplyDeleteMy front door is also red. And right now it needs to be washed. I think we put about four coats of paint on it when we painted it 5 years ago and it still looks great. Our front door is used constantly as it is the door to come into our house, we do not have a detached garage. It's a great gift you received from your son and grandson.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous surprise and a lovely gesture. I hope you enjoyed your Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Mother's Day surprise! I love a red front door.
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent Mother's Day gift -- you've wanted a red front door for a long time and now you have one!

ReplyDeleteA wonderful Mother's Day gift--a makeover given from the heart. Heart warming.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for you Wanda. I recently worked on my front door (needs the second coat whenever the winds decides to stop blowing) anyway, I also painted mine red and I LOVE IT! I had thought about the red for a long time and am wondering why I waited so long. Makes me very happy when I pull into the drive.
ReplyDeleteHats off to your thoughtful fellows!!
I can't think of a better Mother's Day gift!
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to be gifted with a freshly painted front door. Every time you pull into your drive I know it will make you smile. As Libby from TN. says "That red door is YOU." I can hardly wait to come a knockin' at your red door.

What a good idea for Mothers Day, your door looks so warm and bright!
ReplyDeleteLove the red door. My house is gray & I would love a yellow door & yellow garage door. Alaska & we need color in the dark!
ReplyDeleteNothing better than a colored front door, and to have the guys show up and do the work, well, even better. You'll have to share a shot when it's all up and your pots are all blooming on your front steps!
ReplyDeleteLove your red door. I'd love to see a picture of it back on the frame sometime. I have a deep turquoise door! Enjoy your day with the Art Quilters!
ReplyDeleteExcellent gift! I love a red door and had one at my house in Atlanta. Now I have a bright red metal roof, which makes the old white vinyl siding shine and look a lot cleaner and whiter than it really is.
ReplyDeleteWhat a special gift! You must show us the door back up and all red!
ReplyDeleteWhat caring family you have! And it's just really hard to go wrong with red!!! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThat's lovely. What a great red door!
ReplyDeleteOh, please post a picture of your red door. I love red doors! And rosy red to boot. Very cool gift!
