I made one more batch of Spritz cookies and Chex mix and cleaned up the kitchen. I also taped the cover of my Betty Crocker cookbook together. I have the 1950s looseleaf version and the outside of the cover had broken by the spine on both the front and the back but the cloth binding on the inside was still intact. I used wide clear packing tape and now it isn't quite as shabby. Today I will make fudge.
Love the Tupperware (and the cookies!) When I was little, I had a Betty Crocker junior kid cookbook. I learned a lot from it. I am sure it is long gone.
YUM!!!! and I have had to do that to one or two of my cookbooks as well!!!. They didn't last as long as your cookbook did before I had to resort to tape!!!
'Tis the season ... DH's family in PA had huge cookie swaps in the 70s and 80s. So much work but such beautiful and delicious results. Spritz were one of their favorites...
I baked and cooked all afternoon yesterday too. I still want to bake some coconut macaroons yet this morning, but then that's it! Your cookies look very pretty.
My sister had a 70's version of that cookbook, and it was my favorite. I pretty much learned to cook following those recipes. (After my grandmother taught me to bake cakes, that is.) The goodies look delicions.
I had to tape up my Fannie Farmer cookbook, but because it is a perfect bound binding all the pages are now loose. So to keep it together, I use a strip of selvage to tie it close. I only did one batch of cookies: chocolate chip.
Those cookies bring back such memories! When we were cleaning up my parent's house this summer I snatched up the cookie press to take home with me. Mom passed almost 16 years ago so it has just been sitting. Now if I could just remember where I put it!
My friend was just telling me she was making spritz cookies! haven't thought about them forever. Do each of the colors indicate a different flavor? I can't remember! What a lot of work, but fun too! Your cookies look delicious!

ReplyDeleteThose cookies look so yummy.
ReplyDeleteSpritz cookies look great. Four batches. I managed only two - red and green. On to Springerle, peanut butter, sugar, etc.
