I finished going through the big stack of 20 year old quilting magazines. I thought this was interesting, both made from the same pattern. Click to enlarge the photos to see the detail in the second one.
It was still steaming hot here in IL yesterday so I went out early to cut more volunteer trees and drastically trimmed one of my bushes. Free brush pick up is next week
I have noticed that too.... same pattern, different color ways -years apart!!! Been hot here too, today is supposed to be hotter.... and we have free brush pick up all season, just never know exactly when they are picking up. So it just waits in the ditch.....
As Beth and you both have said. How many ways can they change patterns? The same patterns different sized pieces and different colorways. I get a kick out of those that say new pattern then copyright them when they are an old pattern which never had a copyright added to it. Everyone stay cool today. Chris
The red scrappy quilt is my favourite - a great way to use up lots of your scraps. It's been cooler here the last couple of days but I'm sure summer's not over with yet. Enjoy your weekend and share more photo's of your garden when you can :)

ReplyDeleteGreat comparison photo. So agree with both of the other comments. The string pieced wonky one has so much going on but fun to explore.

ReplyDeleteWhat a difference in the way these two look! Very hot here, good weather to stay in and sew!
ReplyDeleteGreat catch - same design but such VERY different looks. I love that red/string version.
ReplyDeleteString quilts have so much energy, much like your work. Great comparison
ReplyDeleteOh that second one is so much fun! And so much work!
ReplyDeleteI always love seeing different versions of the same pattern. No surprise, I love love love that red one. Thanks for posting it!
ReplyDeleteWow...they look so different.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to believe they're made from the same pattern! I love the red one.
