The first day of the colorwash class went very well. All 5 students made good progress. Today will be filling in the empty spaces, possibly adding a couple rows, and then the tweaking....which sometimes takes hours. We were all beat at the end of 7 hours yesterday.
You really gave them a workout yesterday it seems. And the progress is fabulous. The design and tweaking take a long time....but it is the part I like best. Love all your work space and hope all goes well today.
WOW - what a large basement you have - great for all your quilting and teaching. Nice to see your design wall(s) at a distance. No wonder you always enjoy spending so much time in there creating your beautiful quilts :)
Everybody is coveting your space! LOL Me too! Just spent the weekend with some quilt friends in Nashville at the home of one of them. She, too, has a quite spacious "woman cave" as she calls it, where the four of us, plus her four dogs, were quite comfortable sewing all weekend. What a luxury to have such space. Hers isn't set up as permanent sewing space, other things happen there at times, but we easily converted it. I would have to use my dining/living room to accommodate another three people, but would happily convert the space if they'd travel here. I'm glad your class is going so well. One of these days, you'll see me showing up for one of your classes, though I'm pretty sure it won't be a color wash, as gorgeous as yours turn out.
Your basement studio is very open. Wish I had more space. Hopefully it gets easier today and not so tired. Chris

ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I wish I lived closer...I would love to take a class with you!
ReplyDeleteIt has to be great, learning this way, with others working around you. Seems like the ideal situation to learn something as difficult as this.
ReplyDeleteLooks like some awesome fun! I would love to be a part of a future class like this!

Exhaustion, but well worth it!
ReplyDeleteThose are definitely Exuberant Colors. Love the idea of trays like that, too.
