The last 2 seams were sewn before noon yesterday. It is 87" x 95". I have a few leftover dark blocks that can go into my orphan block box for a someday quilt.
I moved this quilt to a different wall, different light bulbs and this is a little truer color than the photo yesterday. I cropped the photo to look like the points are cut off.
Then I flipped the photo 180 degrees to see if I liked it any better. I measured it after finishing the pressing and it is 45.5" wide and 48" tall without the points.
I figured I might as well flip the photo to a horizontal view too so here is horizontal view 1.....
and here is horizontal view 2. If it ends up being a baby quilt it won't matter which way is up.
Your OBW is looking great! I love the design that fabric produced! Did you cut your fabrics at 3 3/4 inches like the books say? I purchased a couple of prints in 5 yard runs so I can try making one or two! grin! Have a great day! Mechelle
Good Morning Wanda...It still looks gloomy and wet outside, but hope it will clear up, as the forecast predicts. There are some weeds outside that really need my attention.
I really like your OBW and look forward to seeing it in person. Today's photo seems to be much more color friendly and whoever the lucky recipient of this quilt is, should be very proud to own one of your creations. Whether it's up, down or sideways, doesn't matter...it's beautiful either way. Enjoy your day!
how much fabric yardage did it take you to make a OBW quilt that size? ... you are so good at finding pleasing arrangements for blocks! OBW quilts can sometimes look like a messy hodge-podge, but this one of yours is a beauty.
Dear Husband and I loved the OBW the best from the first view with the darker colors going downward. We also loved the double four patch. You made some beautiful quilts.
Your OBW has turned out amazing - I wasn't sure at first, but now I see how you've placed the blocks I think it looks stunning - which ever way is the 'top' it won't matter as it's good from every angle - can you tell I like it? haha ...and your 4 patch has turned out great as well :)
OBW is a new one to me,(I have lost so much time trying to keep up this summer). I will go back and see how this one is designed, as always an glorious piece. And your brown Double Patch is so rich and precise, another beauty.
