The one on the left is the same as in yesterday's post. I worked on it yesterday morning and the one on the right is the progress. I'm not sure if it is done or not. I'll look at it for a couple days while I work on my other 2 in progress quilts.
I sewed the top strip with cornerstone to the 24 blocks. Now I'm ready to go to the design wall with them. Then I can add end of row strips and bottom of the quilt strips and sew the top together.
re: DP ~ I too like the one in progress, has a nice flow to it. Even if it is called Drunkard's Path. Your African fabrics are mesmerizing, I see something different the longer I study it.
I read some comments yesterday and thought you might head that direction, but hoped you wouldn't. I didn't have a clue how to make it work, but I knew I loved the African prints and concepts. I see it today and adore it, but I would never had had an idea how to make it this beautiful.
Wow, you did it! Subtle changes but they made a big difference. I'm glad you didn't remove those black/gold blocks entirely. They way they sit now, they add particular interest but don't distract overall.
Hi -I will try and see if my comment makes it to the blog. Just wanted to say I love watching the process you go through to arrive at the final arrangement. Love your blog! Marg
Oh I lole-love this your magic red-black-white square (log cabin?)
ReplyDeleteLike the changes. The finished circle in the almost middle makes a big difference.

ReplyDeleteI love that fussy cut circle that you added to the mix! I like this version much better than the first, too. What a fun quilt!
ReplyDeleteThat added bit of black and gold really has made this work. It's quite striking.
ReplyDeleteI love the fabrics that you have used they marry up so very well.
ReplyDeleteWanda, I really enjoy seeing how your layout tweaks always improve the whole. I can't even see what you did, I just can see it's better. LOL
ReplyDeleteTaking the small circle out of the center made a big difference. Even better now.
ReplyDeleteI like how you changed the circle towards the upper left. Now it's a full circle and I think it looks good that way. Patty
