Quilting progress.........
I had ditch quilted around the border, both sides of sashing and around stars and then did meandering in the border. I was trying to decide how to quilt the sashing because I didn't want white thread running through black dots. I finally looked at it and saw that the dots were in diagonal rows so I quilted 2 lines in one direction and one the other direction and it looks great. I have trimmed it, cut the binding and the hanging sleeve so it will be finished very soon. Last night I appliqued 3 more circles on the other project, 5 down, 13 to go.
Sometimes stepping outside the box is the way to go. Can't wait to see it all done!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great. Like most brilliant ideas, you found a simple solution. Simple, yet brilliant
ReplyDeleteYes, it's looking good, Wanda. This is going to be a sharp one, very crisp!
ReplyDeleteI love the way this one turned out.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of this one and can't wait to see the finished quilt.
ReplyDeleteI love the dots with those fabrics.
ReplyDeleteLove your way of doing things... some on one quilt, some on another. Keeps things from being boring, I'd say.

You are very clever and very particular! I stopped by your blog because the colors in this quilt really caught my eye -- love them! I won some similar fabrics that I have been trying to decide what to do with. I am now thinking that I need polka dots. Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteIt does look great! What a great way to quilt the sashing.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt! Love the dots next to the vibrant stars! Simple layout and great colours - perfect combo!
ReplyDeleteSuch a delicious quilt!! I hadn't realised until your close-up here that you have used the delicious Babaganoush for your border - a super fabric.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the idea about the dots, I'm going to copy!

I don't remember seeing this cute quilt before, I love the polka dotted sashing! And, of course, the brightly colored stars.
ReplyDeleteI pulled out my Kaffe Fasset fabric and thought it was beautiful but such a mish mash of fabric prints. Now that I see your star quilt, I think I can make something out of my fabrics. I love all your quilts. Thanks for showing them.
