I quilted for over an hour on the fractured quilt yesterday morning, then finished knitting a prayer shawl so I could turn it in at church sewing circle.
Sewing circle is at 1 and I had to stop for gas on the way home. Somehow I decided I needed some play time after all of that. I pulled out the box of 2" squares and pulled one of each of all of the prints in the stacks. I can see I need to go to a design wall instead of using the piece of batting leftover from the fractured quilt. But first, back to quilting today; I'm almost done with that quilt.
After you play with all those squares.... you will have a sewing day!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...I like where this one is headed!
ReplyDeleteSome days we all need to play. No two ways about it. Glad you had fun doing it. Enjoy today. Chris
ReplyDeletehmmmm, love the colorwash and don't tempt me! I have other projects that need to be finished!
ReplyDeleteI need to finish a baby quilt but can't stop working on "Lizzy"-some things are just more fun. Love your 2" square start!
ReplyDeleteYour color wash is tempting me, too.
ReplyDeleteDo you have a "go to" pattern for your prayer shawls?
Wanda, your colorwash quilts really fascinate and intrigue me and I keep looking at them, so I think when I am through with all the baby items I've been making, I may give it a try. It looks like such fun and I have saved copies of pictures you've posted before. The most time will be taken up by selecting the colors and the layouts I'm thinking. Are they all batiks? One of the reasons I'm so drawn to them, is that they are like a beautiful piece of art, which they all are, but so much more than that. Hope you have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteI think this quilt might turn out to be a favorite of mine. Love what it looks like so far.
ReplyDeleteSylvia, These are Kaffe Fasset fabrics, But Batiks will achieve the same effect. I Love Kaffe (& Philip Jacobs- fabric lines are related, both by Westminster, I think) prints, but they are kind of thin. I think that top quality Batiks are easier to handle.
