I have a couple pieces to complete for April finishes but when I have a lull in the projects I work on cutting kits for an Intuitive Color workshop that I will be giving in June. I need kits of 100 fabrics each and I'm using the die cutter to cut them. First however there is a lot of pressing to get the crease lines out of the fabrics where they have been folded. I only work on this a short amount of time each day. There are 17 fabrics in the little piles so far and this is the next batch of fabric that I will be cutting from.
We ended up with a nice day for the art quilters to come yesterday. We were north of the severe weather area. It is heartbreaking to hear of all of the devastation from the tornadoes.
Wow! you are a dynamo - yes I know I have said that too many times. Ha ha.
ReplyDeleteGlad you aren't in this wicked weather. So far I am good here. We are waiting for round two and round 3 to hit. The Governor declared a State of Emergency for Alabama.
We got drizzly rain most of the day, but the hard rain came after 5 pm. Suppose to rain again today. You are keeping busy. Glad you had your quilting friends in to visit. Chris
ReplyDeletea lot of cutting - that is when those cutting machines sure come in handy!
ReplyDeleteI wish I was closer. I would live to take a class from you.
ReplyDeleteHow do you remove those creases: misting, spray, dry iron, steam? Mine just stay there even after really trying everything...you are amazingly productive...hugs, julierose
ReplyDeleteGreat fabrics! Those lucky people, to take this class! You certainly get a lot of work done. Do you go from a daily list or do you just go full steam ahead as you go?
ReplyDeleteThe fabric on the top of each pile is so mesmerizing. I too wish I could come take the class. What a job to cut all those pieces... even with a die cutter. You are such a sharing, giving person. I so admire you for all you do for others. . . Teaching the class plus assembling those kits yet. I won't even go into all the other groups you are into and share so much with them.

An enormous pile of fabric, and more to cut, you do so much, wish I would be there for that class, a real treat. Cheers, jean.
ReplyDelete100 different fabrics in each kit? That is a lot of cutting.
ReplyDeleteEven with a die cutter, that's a lot of pressing and cutting! But, I assume you volunteered to do it and weren't forced! Just be careful with your shoulder, but I'm sure you've already thought of that. Tornadoes are so unpredictable and can be so devastating. I've been fortunate to have avoided personal encounters with natural disasters so far, though I was actually out walking in downtown Atlanta when a tornado came through there in 2008! There was incredible devastation, but we managed to get to safety without getting hurt. It was an awe-inspiring experience. It came on so suddenly, without any warning, was so incredibly powerful that we could barely stand up against the building, and in 3-5 minutes it was gone just as suddenly and completely as it had appeared - leaving incredible devastation in it's path.
