Sneak peek........
I really didn't work on anything yesterday except the 4th side of the binding. I was too busy baking 2 batches of cookies and doing 2 loads of laundry. This is one of my next projects. The snowball GO! die came out late last year and I had $13 in points to use toward it plus new dies had free shipping. I pulled out the box of quarter yard or less Kaffe fabrics and cut a few snowball shapes. I'm trying to determine the corner color before I cut a lot more. The fabric on the right was used in one in a Kaffe book. The fabric on the left is the same print, different colorway. Another book has assorted shot cottons for corners. There is a lot of thinking and auditioning to do yet. But for today I'll enjoy the art quilters visit and lots of inspiration.
I think I like the one on the right. To me it looks richer. Just my opinion. Chris
ReplyDeleteI like both of them... I'm thinking stripes .... some of each?
ReplyDeleteJust wonderful colors for a grey January morning! Enjoy the art quilters. I am sure they will enjoy the cookies. I would love to see some of their work, but maybe they are camera shy.
ReplyDeleteI like the one on the left (the lighter one) better- more contrast.
ReplyDeleteI also got one of the new dies-- the smaller clamshell. Think this one would have been easier to piece!
I made a Japanese lantern quilt with snowballs and top and bottom accents in black. Snowballs are very versatile and I love the colors you have chosen.
ReplyDeleteI like both options so I would have a hard time deciding.
ReplyDeleteJust remember, the auditioning is the most fun part of quilting. Enjoy!
ReplyDeletePrettiest snow balls I have ever seen ! I know you enjoyed your day with your art quilters.

Love all the pretty Kaffe. Any day with Kaffe is a good day.
ReplyDeleteNice and bright snowballs!
ReplyDeleteI like them both! Just depends on the mood you are going for. So much fun to play around, right?! Do you use your Go! cutter frequently? I've been thinking of buying a die cutter, but not sure how much use it will get...
ReplyDeleteThe fabric on the left certainly makes the snowball fabrics pop. What great colors for the middle of winter.
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see what you decide on with this quilt? I look forward to your progress!
