Fractured block quilts.............

Side borders are added and now I think either they need to be trimmed a little narrower or the top and bottom need a narrow strip added.  I think I'll trim the sides down a little.  I'm contemplating another border on this one.

The pinwheel top is sewn together and is big enough for a baby quilt without adding a border.  Just a bright binding is all it needs to finish it.

My two friends and I had a fun day yesterday.  I got the two tops above sewn together and pulled all of the basting threads out of this quilt.  Last night I chose the binding fabric and cut the strips and then crashed.  It must have been all of the sugar we had yesterday, yummy cupcakes with the best frosting, and cookies.
The white cactus has three blooms and lots of buds.  You can see the sun was shining too, the shadow of my front bush on the blinds.

  2. busy busy busy!!! You got a lot done. I agree, the border needs to be a bit narrower... otherwise I like it! I also like the binding choice for the 16 patch! The pinwheels will make a lovely baby quilt for sure!

  3. Sounds like a fun day and a productive one! My white cactus has buds too. If they mature it will be my first blooms since the plant's purchase a year ago.

  5. Can't wait to see what you do with border, it will be great. I don't know how you get so much sewn. I would be thrilled to get half of what you get done.

  7. what you say for each of the tops is what I agree with you on - the baby quilt is ready for binding and yes the fractured sides might need to be a little narrower but it looks great to me right now also.

White cactus blossom so pretty. All the cactus blossom's remind me of a dancing ballerina.

  12. LOVE the spiral quilt. My immediate thought when I saw the picture was that the added borders need to be cut down, so I'm glad you are considering it. Not that you need any help in making wonderful quilts! :)
