The top is done, sewn together and stay stitched around the edges. I'm happy to be done with this one and the series is done--no more!
It was 62 degrees when I got up yesterday, rare for a November day in IL. I drove through blinding rain for 15 miles on the way home from church and was happy to get home safely. Violent tornadoes hit some towns south of us, just devastating. Now we are back to cold weather again.
Just beautiful. Glad to hear you are safe after those wild storms!
ReplyDeleteThe top looks great!!!! Happy to hear that all is well after that horrible storm. Hopefully, that will be the end of tornado season for the year!!!
ReplyDeleteThe rain was awful. We had hail here. The quilt is very striking glad you got it finished Chris
ReplyDeleteThis piece came out beautifully! I love the way your eye is taken around by all the B&W enters...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI guess I have a new favorite, at least until your next series.
ReplyDeleteThe top looks just fantastic!!! I adore it sooooo much! I heard about the tornadoes, such and awful thing.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I thought about you when I heard about the storms in Illinois. Glad you are safe.
ReplyDeleteLooks Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you are safe. When I heard about the tornados on the news I thought of you and hoped there would be a post.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt looks beautiful.

It looks great. I like the changes you made
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you were not affected by the tornado. Still not fun to drive in heavy rain.
ReplyDeletethe storms totally missed us and we had a sunny windy day yesterday and high of 78! weird of course down to 44 this morning back to normal.
ReplyDeletelove the quilt.
ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteI am glad that yesterday is over. The tornados came far too close to my home. The wind rushing through all the large trees by me sounded like an airplane over the house. I am thankful for Channel 7 for letting us know exactly where the tornado was and where it was going. I guess winter will really be here this coming weekend. Cold, cold, and more cold is a comin'.
ReplyDeleteYour second favorite quilt has always been my favorite but now this one is my favorite. I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteGreat series! I am so happy you are safe from the weather that struck!
ReplyDeleteLove it! The black is just right--sets off the blocks perfectly.
ReplyDeleteCatching up after being away since Friday. The top is beautiful! The peony garden quilt is also so beautiful! It is in the 40's right now in NE Ohio. The wind last night just howled and it rained hard! The sun is peaking in and out today. I was reminded of my surgery two years ago because it was as few days before 11-11-11 Heavy Metal Day. I was going to make a wall hanging celebrating Heavy Metal Day and it did not happen because I was in the hospital.
ReplyDeleteLove those black centers with the bright colors and the peek a boo arrangement. Hoping we get some rain sometime-send it our way:)
ReplyDeleteThe tornado story was on the front page of our paper this morning. I immediately laid down the paper, picked up my tablet and checked your blog to see if you had posted this morning. (you already know I LOVE LOVE LOVE your gloriously scrappy blocks!)
ReplyDeleteI know this one was a lot of work, but what a pay off! It is glorious, exuberant and utterly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is beautiful! I have enjoyed this series. Probably my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI saw pictures of the tornado damage. Terrible. Glad you made it home safely.
This is such a striking quilt. What an imagination you have. We had freezing weather last week and Sunday it got up to 81. I prefer the warm. How far south of you were the storms? We have friends in Lake in the Hills, where we used to live.
ReplyDeleteWanda we saw the devestation on our news here in NZ and I am so pleased to hear that you are fine!
ReplyDeleteThis has been a great series to watch you design. And it has been an awesome. Could photograph all the series together like you do at times ?
ReplyDeleteOMG those tornadoes were wicked.... National news said, about 70 hit ground. And those poor folks in Washington, IL and the other communities that were hit, my heart goes out to them.
JJM
I'm glad to read that those storms apparently missed you.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome!
I've never seen a pattern like this and I love it "to pieces!" Those Exuberant Colors are what make this quilt so stunning.
ReplyDeleteI am relieved to hear that you escaped. I thought of you and hoped to hear your news. That storm was shocking. It's a reminder of the impermanence of things.
Thank you for posting, from Lindsay in California
It was in the upper 80's yesterday and in the lower 60's today! Not looking forward to Friday, even colder and wet!
ReplyDeleteFantastic design, Wanda. Of course, you executed it perfectly. I'm saving it for inspiration for one of those "one day I'm going to make one...". I think it should become your #1 favorite! :):)
