Fractured, a quilt top.........

The top is finished!  I made it one row smaller all the way around than the one in the book.  I need more lap size quilts, less queen size quilts.  Now I can start my scrappy one.  Click on the Fractured Quilt Along button on my right side bar to see how everyone else is coming along on theirs.

My goal on this piece was to see if red was strong enough to continue the pattern when the gray fabrics ranged all the way from almost white to charcoal gray.  I am going to consider it a success.

  1. It certainly looks like a success to me too. The red has a nice vibration throughout the quilt.

  2. An experiment that worked out perfectly, but I think you knew it would!!! That red is bright enough to stand up in any situation.

  3. You bet it is a success. Red is my favorite color, but I have never made any red quilts. Red is a hard fabric to find, really rich red. I would love to do a quilt along, but I could not swing buying a whole book. Maybe sometime just one pattern would be a good idea. I just love, love the quilt's sparkle.
