I cut a few more pastel batik strips and came up with one more set than I showed yesterday. I sewed the duplicates of these blocks too so I have 12 new blocks to add to the 37 made previously.
I need to take a break from this and cut some tote bags for our church sewing group. The Presbytery has requested 30 bags filled with school supplies. We have a couple months to work on them. Our schools start in Aug. so these must be going to countries south of the equator.
Does your school startup in September? The bags are a nice idea.
ReplyDeleteThose pastel blocks look a little tame... compared to your summer garden tops .... Will this be a faded garden?
ReplyDeletegood think school starts in September up there. I always remember school being the day after Labor Day I believe it was - here so early - they start on the 19th of this month.
ReplyDeleteGoing to make a very pretty and restful quilt. Very summery.
ReplyDeleteTeachers start back to school here in California next week; the kids come the week after. This is about a week earlier than usual this year.
ReplyDeleteThe pastels are very soothing and restful to my eyes after having a batch of migraines in a row. I love the other bold ones also, I think these ones are also stunning in their subtle gradations.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Linda... your pastel blocks are so soothing to look at and leaves us with a lovely tranquil feeling.
ReplyDeleteYour church circle has such dedication to help those in need. And I know you are the spearhead that keeps these projects going. You and the others can be so proud of your projects and efforts.
