A little therapy.........

I had some free time in the middle of the day yesterday so I had a therapy session.  I got 5 blocks sewn and their duplicates cut but not sewn together yet. Four of these blocks have one batik fabric in them.

I have 9 more sets of 2 fabrics sewn together, 18 fabrics and only 5 of them are batiks.  Maybe I can get the last seam sewn and then cut today.

My backyard is one big bird feeder.  Do you see the goldfinch on the sunflower plant.  He sat there and ate for quite some time.  I saw hummingbirds 2 days in a row now in the backyard.  I'm never quick enough to get the camera.  I have to remember to put it in the kitchen so I can be ready.

  1. Pretty! It looks like bird paradise. My coneflowers are just starting to open. I keep wanting to put in sunflowers but I have no room. I took out a lot of flowers to make space for veggies.

  2. I love your garden. I also love having the birds around. I have not planted my zinnias this year as my son is getting ready to sell this house and he wanted the landscaping more manicured. The hummingbirds used to love them. My feeder helps attract the birds and also the hummingbird feeder but miss my flowers. Thanks for posting the great picture.

  4. I do see the goldfinch.
I like the colors you are using in the strips. Your work, even in starts show a mastery of color values.

  6. Love your yard, the goldfinch and your fabrics-not sure who wins the most popular today. We used to have birdfeeders but have dispensed with them because of our cats-humming birds still abound. They love the purple flowered Mexican Sage.

  7. Thanks for pointing out the goldfinch..would have missed it. Your garden looks so peaceful and natural..like it just appeared there...I know you had to work hard at it...just like the quilting..you make it look and sound so easy. Thank you for sharing.

  8. Lots of luck with the hummer photos -- as soon as I reach for the camera, mine disappear!

  12. We do not have goldfinch here, so I had to look. The florals are looking good.

  13. I love the dark blue and green block in the foreground on the lower right - so pretty! Hummingbirds are so hard to photograph! I had a hawk pose for me - posted today on my blog.
