More spikes.......

I drew the last section of the paper pieced border for the flannel quilt but I didn't feel like sewing it.  I wanted to work with some batiks so I made 8 more of these blocks.  I have a lot more cutting to do before I sew any more of them.

  1. You are tempting me to play with "spiky" designs.

  2. those are beautiful, I need to dust my NYB blocks off, finish up that batch. I'd love to try some like these. I am now adept enough to say the word "paper-piece" without breaking out in a cold sweat.

  3. I like these blocks. Color contrast is perfect, can easily see all spikes in every block. A 3D effect going on. Cool. Wonderful batiks. You're the best.

  5. I am the same way about batiks. After weeks of Easy Street (cotton) I could hardly wait to get back to a batik quilt. And 3 of the 4 BOMs I am doing are batik. Guess I am keeping those companies in business. ;-)

  6. I hope everyone enlarges this photo... the true beauty of the fabrics shows up so much better. And to see how the the sections of your spikes were stitched together surprised me. Truly needle artwork.

  8. Batiks are the best and your colors just sing. I don't think I could paper piece, especially such points. Just love your colors in this!
