Cutting corners for my blocks. I'm trying to match the color of the spikes for the corners. I see I have one fabric in there twice so I guess there won't be 72 different fabrics. I haven't sewn the corners on the blocks yet. In fact I didn't sew a stitch yesterday. I went through a desk drawer and threw out old paperwork and emptied my shredder twice. I have a few more years worth to go through.
I have pieces cut for the next 5 blocks plus some extra pieces that aren't matched in groups yet. This pattern gives instructions for cutting the oversize pieces needed for each part of the block. That way you know your piece will always be the right shape and will cover the area it is meant for.
I mailed 3 more wallhangings for my part of the show at Ciel Gallery in Charlotte NC. The First Friday Crawl for March is this Friday. One of the wallhangings sent for the opening in February has sold so there is a space on the wall waiting for something new. My package should get there today.
I need to do the "old paperwork" thing myself.
ReplyDeleteI hope your things are doing well in the gallery!
Very sensible for the paper piece instructions to tell you how large to cut the pieces so that you know they'll be large enough!
ReplyDeleteIt always amazes me how much bigger they need to be than you think, and I would often come up short when I would eyeball it.

I am totally blown away by your work ethic; you get SO much done every day!! As a part time sewer/quilter I move at a snail's pace in comparison...but still have fun...love your blocks--so gorgeous!! Julierose
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sale!
ReplyDeleteYour newest quilt is coming along beautifully. I am enjoying watching your progress.
They look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI did a closet yesterday and it seemed to take the majority of the day.

ReplyDeleteWanda, the new paper piecing one is gorgeous, it looks very achievable. you manage to get so much done each day,
ReplyDeleteYay for a sale! Always a good thing, and a good thing, too, that you have more on the way to replace it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a difference the corners make. Just stunning.

This quilt is going to be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm not surprised you sold a quilt so quickly. A good sign of things to come :D
Bravo!!!
ReplyDeleteI like it when paper piecing patterns have you precut! It makes it easier. Congratulations on selling a quilt!
ReplyDeleteThe colors are wonderful as usual. Love that the pattern tells you size to cut. I have been there where you come up short after you sew it on especially with those long points.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your fast sale too!
I like the juxtaposition in many of yours posts of the white and black scenes outside your windows and the riot of color you corral inside! Always enjoy looking at your creations. Thank you for sharing.
