Quilting and binding.......

This is the backing fabric I chose for the Christmas quilt.  I bought it on sale last year.  It was cold and rainy yesterday so it was a perfect day to do the quilting.
The quilt top was 50" wide so I had to piece the backing.  I also had some triangles left over plus a piece of the first border fabric so I made a zig zag strip to insert.  It reminds me of a Slinky toy stretched out.
I decided to use this old Jinny Beyer paisley for the binding.  I didn't want to emphasize the red or the green so this was a good mix.
I will take a photo of the finished quilt when I'm done with the hand stitching on the binding.
