One more quilted..........

I wanted to quilt another easy one next.  This one is just a random pattern of a controlled group of fabrics so it was a perfect candidate for my wavy grid quilting.  It is 55" x 68".  This is one of the Stack and Slash quilts (you can see the construction posts if you click on Stack and Slash on my Label list on the right sidebar).  The backing fabric at the right in the photo is an old Alexander Henry fabric from the 1990s.  I used it on the back of another quilt too and now I have less than 1/4 yard of it left.  The remainder of the fabrics in the quilt are in the pile at the right and I'll choose the binding out of them.

I have one more color of cactus blooming.  The pale pink is really pretty, but then I say that about all of them don't I?
The results from my test Wed. were good and my eye surgical procedure will happen at the middle of the month.  The removal of the radioactive seeding will be 5 days later.  I hope the weather is good both days because it is an hour and a half drive.

  1. It's a pretty combination of fabrics.
I'm glad your test result was good. Do they plan to kill the mass with the seeds? Sorry, I don't much about it.
You're not driving yourself though, right?
I hope I'm not being too personal. It must be a very anxious time. Take care.

  4. Very pretty fabrics. The photo of the flowering cactus almost looks like part of the fabrics. :)

Hope things go well with your surgery. I still think often of you and pray for you as you come to mind.

  6. I love the way you mix fabrics--print and batik. Every quilt you make is a new delight, and this one just makes me want to run to the studio to play with my fabrics.

You have been and will continue to be on my mind while you go through this ordeal with your eye.

  10. I have been thinking of you Wanda and I hope the procedure goes smoothly and that the procedure of those "seeds" will take care of the mass. I do hope that you have someone to be with you for moral support and to get you there and back to your home - I hope there will be no headaches or after affects from the seeding.

  14. You are always in my prayers for a successful procedure and a quick and complete recovery, along with peace of mind. When I consider how creative and productive you have been while all this has been going on, I know I will be "blown out of the water" with your productivity, when this matter has all been resolved. You are always an inspiration!

  15. If the weather doesn't look good just plan on a hotel. No good reason to be worrying about the weather or driving in it! Sending only good thoughts.

I hope set aside those days after the seeding, to do absolutely nothing but let it do the work. You need your rest.

  22. Glad you are looking on the bright side. At least you are getting a lot of quilting done to take your mind off of the procedures that are coming.

  26. Another very pretty quilt, and I like your wavy lines. You do a good job of keeping them uniform. And yes, you do say that about most of the cactus flowers, but they are all really pretty, especially in a time when so much of the outside pretties are fading away.

  27. Doing something easy is always a good break for the mind.

All you cactus are beautiful and deserve that attention. This one is gorgeous.

Glad to hear you had some good news. Hope the procedure does the trick!

  29. I love the fabric that you have chosen for you quilt but I say that about all of your fabric choices. You have a good eye for color which some people do not have. You are in my thoughts and prayers that everything will turn out ok. It is scary when it has to do with your vision. I am off to eye doctor on Monday for visual problems also. I am hoping it is nothing more than cataract but I have some other issues also. Wishing you luck with the procedure.

  30. I had never done a string quilt but always wanted to. I walked into my studio yesterday and said"I am going to try a string quilt with all those pink flannel scraps from several past quilts". Finished it last night and love the bright, cheerful jumble of color. Thanks for the inspiration. Like the wavy quilting and prayers are going to the Father for you as I type. Blessings and peace to you, Wanda. A speedy recovery.
