Stitching and blooms.......

I finished quilting this streak of lightning zig zag at 11 p.m. last night so it hasn't been trimmed yet.  I will choose a binding today.
When I opened the blinds yesterday morning I noticed 2 of my cacti are blooming.  Three more should be starting today.
This one is the 2 tone flower and at least one more of the plants is like this one.  I have a white one ready to bloom too.  I think the red ones must be the later ones that don't have buds yet.

  2. Your blooms are about a week ahead of mine. I have a white, pink and a terracotta and it won't be long before they are all covered in blooms! (Maybe they are Halloween cacti?)

  3. Hmm, will have to get busy on my zigzag quilt. I have started calling my blooming cactus a Holiday cactus . It blooms from the end of October until way past Easter . It is a happy bloomer in the bathroom window.

  5. My cactus is getting ready to bloom too. I talked to a man at the feed mill and he said there are two kinds of cactus - one has more pointy leaves and that is the Christmas cactus. The other kind, our kind, is a Thanksgiving or holiday cactus. Mine blooms early, like yours. The flowers are so delicate - a delight to see. Enjoy!

  9. I do not know of anyone else that has the success of in house blossoms that you do. I still can not get over how you took them from the outside with buds and replanted and it did not set them back at all. So very pretty.

I like your quilting on Streak of Lightning. Compliments and emphasizes the pattern.

    Prayers for you ~

  11. I like the quilting you've done on your zig-zag quilt -- it works with rather than against the pattern of the quilt.
