I finished quilting this streak of lightning zig zag at 11 p.m. last night so it hasn't been trimmed yet. I will choose a binding today.
When I opened the blinds yesterday morning I noticed 2 of my cacti are blooming. Three more should be starting today.
This one is the 2 tone flower and at least one more of the plants is like this one. I have a white one ready to bloom too. I think the red ones must be the later ones that don't have buds yet.
The quilt is great and the cacti beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYour blooms are about a week ahead of mine. I have a white, pink and a terracotta and it won't be long before they are all covered in blooms! (Maybe they are Halloween cacti?)
ReplyDeleteHmm, will have to get busy on my zigzag quilt. I have started calling my blooming cactus a Holiday cactus . It blooms from the end of October until way past Easter . It is a happy bloomer in the bathroom window.

Thanks for always inspiring us with your quilts, your seemingly never ending energy for quilting AND your lovely flower pictures.
ReplyDeleteMy cactus is getting ready to bloom too. I talked to a man at the feed mill and he said there are two kinds of cactus - one has more pointy leaves and that is the Christmas cactus. The other kind, our kind, is a Thanksgiving or holiday cactus. Mine blooms early, like yours. The flowers are so delicate - a delight to see. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great quilt and the flowers are amazing. I may have to tell hubby the next time he surprises me with a plant for my sewing room window I want a cactus!
ReplyDeleteLove the quilt. WOW. That plant is putting on a SHOW this year! Love it :D
ReplyDeleteThe colors in your quilt are just spectacular. Those fabrics are perfect for the zig zags.
ReplyDeleteI do not know of anyone else that has the success of in house blossoms that you do. I still can not get over how you took them from the outside with buds and replanted and it did not set them back at all. So very pretty.
ReplyDeleteI like your quilting on Streak of Lightning. Compliments and emphasizes the pattern.
Prayers for you ~
