Mug rugs, quilting.........

I had the grand idea of having 100 mug rugs to sell at my show in NC.  The show will be there for 4 weeks and I hoped some people would want to buy a small piece if they weren't in the market for a large piece.  Like I said a grand idea but maybe not practical.  I have 30 finished now.
Here are 12 more waiting to be finished.  I'm trying to finish 2 a day.
I finally got the courage to quilt the colorwash that I pieced in 2007.  Here is the post where I showed it in progress.  Now I think I can quilt the other one from the same time period.  I started taking down the rows of the new colorwash so I can start sewing it together. I also quilted Crooked Cobblestones 6, the smallest of the series.  Now I need to find 2 bindings.

  1. I would say that you are definitely on your way to 100! Two a day isn't too much and I think that is really acheivable. Love the color wash, it looks fantastic!

  7. The colorwash is wonderful! How did you quilt it? I think the idea of selling the mug rugs at your show is genius - they will definitely sell.

  8. Great idea to have smaller pieces available at your show. Even if you don't get to having quite 100 finished you'll still have a good supply at the rate that you are going.

  9. Like the others have said, I love the color wash projects. I will be interested in how you quilt them! Lately I've been drawn to these bright batiks, so nice to see projects using them, Michelle

  11. Your colorwash looks super Wanda! I'm wondering, why did it take courage to quilt it? And how did you decide on the quilting design?

  20. It has been a busy week for me this week, and as you know I have not sent off any comments. So today I was able to set down and throughly enjoyed all your posts this week.

From 'mug rugs' ~ color washes ~ gorgeous blossoms and jack in the pulpit.

I agree with you... on trying to produce 100 mug rugs. From what you have posted... I think they will be a great seller for you. Are you going to be selling all that you take to NC ? Or will some pieces be for show only ? No one else can create a color wash like you Wanda. They are awesome.

p.s. will you be posting while in NC ?

  22. That big window of time you had is getting smaller, isn't it? But you are really chugging along and getting a lot done. I think you can! It all looks so good.
