I finished quilting the little crooked cobblestone quilt and then decided to play with scraps. I have been cutting triangles out of most leftovers as I create them. I found another pile of older scraps and pressed and cut them too with my die cutter. I have a box of 4" finished size too. The ones in the photo are 2" and 3" finished. I love the nipped off corners that the dies have.
I made a sample block with the signature strip and 3" triangles. I was hoping the proportion would be right for a block I have been seeing on blogs but it isn't. This will make a neat dark lattice over a light background so I'll keep cutting pieces and making blocks.
There was an older Jesse Stone movie on the Hallmark channel last night and I'm sure I have seen it before but I couldn't remember enough of it to be bored so I sat and made some more cobblestone blocks and strip piecing while I watched it. It was a dreary day at 30 degrees and light flurries all day. I needed some bright color to go along with that.
Looks like the color did stimulate your need to sew. Today is my day. Last couple days I cleaned. Stay busy and something gets done. Chris
ReplyDeleteJust pouring rain all weekend here in England .Nothing to inspire sewing
ReplyDeleteWanda, I am glad to know I am not the only one who pieces while watching movies. You know I love those bright colors.
ReplyDeleteLove the contrast. Wanda where did you get your sewing table? I need one badley.
ReplyDeleteI always seem to have the tv on too while piecing and quilting - last night we popped in Aliens 2, I was quilting and only half way watching but hubby enjoyed seeing the movie - I actually didn't remember most of it.

I am having a serious love affair with your scraps and blocks and colors and I want some too!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteI love your scrap play! And the cobblestones look fantastic too. We had crazy weather yesterday too - very windy. My internet was out for most of the day. Too bad I can't watch television while I sew. Hmmm, may have to do something about that.
ReplyDeleteI love it when you play with scraps! and the block made form the triangles is really pretty too.
ReplyDeleteWanda, I noticed that someone else commented on your sewing table as well - did it come with your machine or did you buy it separately? Either way I would love to know where you bought it/what is is called. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYour fabrics are always so wonderful. Your constant working on your quilts is awesome. Really it is .
ReplyDeleteWould you believe this is our second day of 50 degrees with beautiful sunshine. Supposedly tomorrow also. Our weather will hit you in a few days to warm you up.

You're always beautifully productive, whether playing with WOF cuts or your scraps.
ReplyDeleteI'll watch anything with Tom Selleck, including the Jesse Stone movies, but I really miss his mustache and those Magnum stories in Hawaii.
Ah, fabric therapy. It just hardly ever fails! And I always enjoy seeing your playtime. :)
ReplyDeleteOh yes....I'll take scrappy ANY time of the day!!
ReplyDeleteI love your discipline with keeping your scraps cut and ready to sew. Sewing with Tom Selleck...sigh...I adore him in the Jesse Stone movies, as well as Blue Bloods. He's a class act, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteGreat blocks Wanda. Love Jesse Stone!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was worth watching again.
