As long as I was already in the routine of quilting cobblestones, I stuck with it and got this one quilted yesterday. I will put a binding on this one but I'm thinking maybe just facings on the ones I showed yesterday. I think I will get the edge finishes and hanging sleeves on them right away and they can qualify as January finishes.
This turned out lovely! When you do facing (as the binding), do you have a recommended width that the overlapping backing fabric should be? (does that make sense?)
Your Cobblestones quilts ae so colorful. I like the random placement of color, but I especially like the way the light ones blend into the darker ones.
Wow, you are getting a lot done. It's amazing how a dead line will inspire you! I still love the crooked cobblestones and I especially like the backing fabric on the first one. It's unique.
Love how the colors glow . . . Happy Sunday to you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! And yes, they qualify!
ReplyDeleteI love getting finishes!

In wintery West Michigan, where we're getting 1/2 inch an hour of snow right now!
I love this kind of quilt. And as always love the colors and fabric that you use. Enjoy your day.

ReplyDeleteLight source for this photo really gives the piece a different look. As always wonderful.
ReplyDelete50 degrees this morning in the valley. January sure is not what it use to be.

I enjoy seeing the glowing centers of so many of your quilts, darkening as they progress to the outside.
ReplyDeleteWhere did I miss info about you having a show of your quilts? You mentioned it a couple posts ago and I didn't remember reading that before.
