I sewed a batch of 9 patches yesterday but they are too light. I need to make a lot more in darker combinations like the 2 near the bottom. I will do more cutting and pairing today and hopefully some sewing too. It was almost 70 degrees yesterday. That is unusual for us in November. By Wednesday it's supposed to be down to 41 so it's a short lived warm spell.
Soak up that warmth while you can. We have been around our normal lately - in the mid 60's. Your nine patch squares are going to make a wonderful border.
We had amazingly warm weather yesterday too -- and I think it's staying that way for a couple more days. I'll take it -- the longer we can ward off winter the better!
Yes, I sew what you mean; the darker ones are better. It is warmer than usual here today too but not near 70. we are about 13C which I can't remember how to convert. Nice enough.
Wow! If you make more you might have enough for another quilt! We are having warm weather too. Tomorrow will be beautiful with sunshine and above average temps. Then it will get colder and maybe we will get some snow near the end of the week. Is it your birthday? Happy Birthday if so.
It looks great! I do agree though more darks will help to balance it out! Send that 70 degree weather our way, please!
ReplyDeleteIt was well over 90*F here today - but we have only sixteen days till the beginning of summer!
ReplyDeleteI think the nine patch blocks look fine.
it was 78 yesterday and this morning already at 73. The quilt is looking great.
ReplyDeleteWe will have storms today or tonight I bet.

It looks really pretty to me, but you could put a dark thin inner border, too, I guess. Whatever, it is still gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Wanda
ReplyDeleteHope you had a great day.
