More stars, garden walk.......

Three more stars.

A possible layout.  No big decisions at this point, just playing with possibilities.
The tiger lilies are late this year.  I hope I will have blooms next week.  We need rain badly and we are going into a 6 day stretch of over 90 degree days starting Saturday.  If the lilies only need heat I'll have flowers; if they need rain, maybe not.
I couldn't find one coneflower that didn't have holes in its petals.  I have seen a few Japanese Beetles so I don't know if they are responsible.
This dark coleus is so pretty.  The leaves look like suede.  The cute little baby bunny that I have been showing ate 2 plants out of my lowest pot on the steps.  I will have to replant because it looks pretty bare on one side.

  6. The stars are fabulous! I especially love the little stars in the sashing area! Gorgeous! Your flowers are looking wonderful as usual. Each year it seems less and less of my coneflowers bloom. Not sure why, but I love them.

  7. Fabulous stars! I love your layout. My coneflowers and lilies are just starting to bloom. I have little holes in all of my blooms. Don't know what is making them.

  8. Your stars are so pretty. I like that you make the points a different fabric from the centers. What fabric are you using for the background?

  9. It is so strange to see some white in your projects ;-) Love your stars. The idea is developing beautifully. Yes, I know you can't comment back to me. No need to.

  10. The stars are nice and I'm sure you are going to come up with a very nice layout. Our lilies bloom in June and July in Texas. This year I got one or two blooms and the rest dried up on the plants for the lack of rain. The grasshoppers are everywhere eating everything.

  11. Yesterday I found a Japanese beetle on one of my coneflowers, so they will definitely eat them. Although they're preferred food seems to be rosebushes. Especially MY rosebushes.

Love the stars and the batik strip quilt. The florals are pretty, but somehow all together do not have the impact of the batik strips.

  15. I like your preliminary stary layout - double stars! I have some of that same coleus. It IS beautiful. Some of mine survived the winter (indoors, or course) and is even thriving in this heat. My kind of plant!

  17. Love the stars. I had just read that the Japanese Beetles are back with a vengence. Did you know that they sell traps for them? I was just reading about it and I am going to pick some up. They just about ate my basil plant so I brought it in the house and got rid of them with soapy water. If you have a bottle add some dish detergent and spray your plants. I am getting my pile of scraps ready to sew these next few or I should say many hot days.

We're getting the same heatwave starting tomorrow. Sounds like it's going to be incredibly hot and humid.

  20. We haven't had 6 days of sunshine in a row. Rain again and more to come tomorrow, but I hear most of the US is going into a heat wave......

  24. Great stars. My aunt and I were just talking about using white for a background. I rarely do but it really makes your colors show up. She prefers a light gray. I love tiger lilies myself.
