3 more blocks, and it was all I did........

It's a good thing I already had a bunch of triangle squares sewn so I could finish the last 3 blocks.  I am wiped out with this hot weather.  I guess it is the high barometric pressure that is really doing it, not the heat.

I put the blocks up on the design wall but didn't have the energy to rearrange them for better color balance. (or to even decide if they need rearranging.)  The 'cold' front is supposed to come through later today so I hope it brings me some energy.  This cold front basically just means scattered storms and then back to heat the next day.  I am re-reading the last half of the last Harry Potter book before I go to see the movie.  I want to be able to compare how closely it follows the book.  I have heard good reviews for the movie so I'm looking forward to it.

  1. You aren't the only one that the heat has effected. Moods are testy and the weather is effecting the energy level here at my house. I really need to get something done today. The Stars are beautifula dn colorful. The secondary star really makes the whole thing come together. Stay cool! Chris

  2. Yes, the barometric pressure can definitely do that. Hopefully the cold front brings a little relief. We are getting your heat for the next few days. Last night was actually quite pleasant, but this morning I woke up to dew on the windows... that is not good. My daughter went to see Harry Potter at the midnight showing and said it was fantastic! Now I need to do the same thing that you are doing and re-read.

  3. I hope you get relief soon. It's much better here. I love the quilt. I don't notice anything for rearranging on my monitor except there seems to be a darker area towards the lower left corner. That could just be the monitor or the lighting though.
I didn't read the books but I've seen the movies with my daughter. She watched it this week in Korea. I may have to go by myself.

  5. The stars look so good. i love the variety. Yes, it is the pressure causing the heat dome across us. We will have it for a few more days. Makes me ache even when not moving.

  6. I hope you are feeling much better soon. We had a chance for rain earlier this week, but it failed to materialize. I have tentative plans to see the movie with a friend tomorrow!

  7. It's bucketing here, has been for most of the day! I think it reached 10*C (50*F) today - one of the coldest, wettest, windiest winters I can remember!

Isn't it funny how we are never satisfied with the weather? In six months, it'll be me commenting on heat and humidity and you commenting on the cold!

  8. Oh I love the scrappy look of this star quilt!! Beautiful.
This hot weather is just sticking around for the whole summer I think - when you see the weather map if they have the temperature up for Fort Smith AR we are close to that reading - only 80 miles away from there but always more humid than they are.

  9. This quilt is really shaping up and it is so nice. I love it! :) I'm going to have to put it on my list of 'want to make' quilts. Thank you so much for all the inspiration you share!
I agree with you, this heat is terrible.

  10. We saw the movie Sunday afternoon and all three of us loved it! DH and I had watched Part I again the night before (Netflix) so we were completely primed for Part II.
