I am so happy I used this Kaffe Fassett Lille print on the back of my Bento Box quilt. It has the deep red in the print so the binding looks great with it. And what is really great is that the binding is done. I had missed the last 3 episodes of "Body of Proof" so I took my laptop over to my binding area and watched 2 of them while I finished the binding.
Proof that it is all done. I'll take a photo of the whole quilt later in daylight.
This is one of the other quilts I that I am quilting right now. I did the loop de loop quilting on my Jewel longarm and I'm doing the ditch quilting afterwards on my Babylock Prof. Quilter straight stitch machine with a walking foot.
I found out Sunday that my neighbor across the street is having a garage sale this week, Thurs. - Sat. If I am going to do one, I always do it the same week as they do because the out of state family comes and they have a huge one. Every time I say it is the last one, but then I end up with stuff that I need to get rid of so here I go again. My garage is fairly clean already from getting ready to store a mattress and box springs for my kids so it is just getting the stuff all out there and marking it.
Doesn't it feel fantastic to have a quilt completely finished? I love the print you used for the back of the quilt, just lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Wanda. I'm liking the wavy line quilting. Now, what is "loop de loop"?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on another finish! Good luck with your garage sale. The weather is cool here and I hope you have nice weather for the sale.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see your full-on shot of the Bento Box Quilt. I just made one, too, using batiks in our school colors. See it here at jaynesquiltingroom.blogspot.com.
ReplyDeleteI will link to your blog when your full pic is posted, if you don't mind.

That deep red binding looks awesome. Can't wait to see the whole quilt.
ReplyDeleteYou have such a great eye for colors, patterns, and all that work together so well.
ReplyDeletedo you endorse the BabyLoc? I need advice. LOVE the backing on the Bento. Your work continues to amaze me!
ReplyDeleteWanda, you have such a wonderful eye for color!!!
ReplyDeleteI love that backing with the binding. It makes it pretty enough to use on the reverse.
ReplyDeleteIt will feel good to do the yard sale.
looking forward to seeing the bento box quilt finished. I have a question for you - you say you're doing loop de loop quilting, then doing stitch in the ditch quilting... do you just cross right over the loop de loop lines? Or do you keep the loops in the blocks, so the quilting in the ditch won't cross it? Or is the in the ditch quilting in another area? I'm still in the phase where I'm afraid to do too much quilting, and err on too little I think.
ReplyDeleteYou amaze me on how fast you finish a quilt and all the quilts that you are working on. I am almost finished with my crazy quilt and am getting ready (have the fabric mostly chosen) to work on another quilt as you go quilt. I want to make a few lap quilts for Christmas gifts. Good luck on the garage sale. I said "enough is enough" on the one I had last year and now my daughter wants to have one here. Guess I better look for stuff.
