Zig zag top finished..........
A friend came to my house yesterday and I helped her baste her quilt. I sewed a few seams on this quilt while she was here and did the rest when I got home from computer club. It is 46" x 58". Now I really have to get some backs sewn together and get some tops quilted. I have over 50 tops hanging on hangers waiting their turn for quilting. I also have 2 queen size quilts waiting for binding, one of them for well over a year. I will have a finishing blitz and then I'll be right back at starting new ones again, or playing with the many blocks I have made to create tops.
I really LOVE this one! And yes, I was stalking you for the last hour for a pic, lol, you're my earliest blog poster ;) Awesome job, I'm partial to zigzags!
ReplyDeleteIt looks wonderful! And a finishing blitz it just the thing that I think we could all use at one point or another.
ReplyDeleteThe finished top looks great. A finishing blitz - good idea. I am doing the same. Well, maybe not a blitz, but I do plan to finish a few things.
ReplyDeleteI love the gradations of colors in this quilt. You have an amazing number of quilt tops. I thought I was bad with my half dozen--3 tops, another quilt almost machine quilted, one being hand quilted and a top on my design wall--almost done.
ReplyDeleteI love the finished top! Wow 50 tops to quilt and I thought the 3 waiting in line at my house was a lot -- you are very productive aren't you :)

Zig zag is one of my favorites and I love the way you graduated the colors from top to bottom. Great job! I am also glad to hear that someone else has long term projects that are not complete.
ReplyDeleteYour quilt is beautiful! You do some amazing work with color!!
ReplyDeleteThis quilt turned out wonderful. Such interesting color combos. over 50 tops!? At one a week, that would take a year to quilt them all, but wouldn't take be a incredible photo of the completed quilts all in a pile?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful top!
ReplyDeleteLet's see, I need to be on a finishing binge, a backing binge, a basting binge...you get the idea...
This is truly gorgeous! Hope you are able to finish some of your tops soon!!
ReplyDeleteThat really turned out pretty. I have to confess that I was not at all sure about the black and white at the top, but put together it IS just what it needed there. Again - you are the master at color and value!
ReplyDeleteNice job on the zig zag, I might try this one.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about finishing some tops, although I don't have as many as you.
I like the color progression and the addition of the yellow. The yellow just adds a zing to the quilt. Nice!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Especially the transitions at the top and bottom. Thank you for this one, Wanda!
ReplyDeleteI love how you played with the gradation of color - this one just sparkles!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and love the 3d look you have achieved with your fabrics.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you mention earlier that one of your blogger friends gifted you with most of these yellow and red blocks? I love this quilt and the way you added your own creative touch in an unusual way to make it sparkle. The blacks on the ends are fabulous.
