I sliced 4 more rectangles (which makes one diamond) and then shuffled the pieces around. I got 4 more rectangles sewn also.
All of these have been spray starched and are ready to cut. Some have to be cut diagonally to the right and the others to the left, so I stack 2 rectangles and trim and then slice to the left, stack 2 more and trim and slice to the right. If I keep working with 4 at a time I should always have the right number of each.
Turning Twenty Just got Better blocks in the diagonal layout.
And here they are in the diamond layout. Compare these with the ones on this post, the other kit I chose for the quilt shop in town. The class is on March 31 and it is filled. We set up another class for Saturday, April 9th.

Ooo, I love those big diamonds! Yes, I was stalking you, you're my first "early morning" blog stop every day! Had to wish you a Happy Wednesday :)
Even thought they are not your style of fabrics they are really nice together, Glad your classes are full. Says something for your talent in teaching. I love the diamonds they very bright and the colors you chose really fit will together. Chris
I wish I could attend one of your classes. :))
I need to learn so much.
Not surprised the class is filled. I opened up and looked and that diamond and said "whoa!" out loud for all to hear. Early morning exuberance, *karendianne.
Those turning 20 blocks and layout really are better. I've always found the original to be lacking focus, but these are much easier on the eye.
I love the high contrast you achieved with both layouts. Did you have any difficulty with getting enough KF light fabrics to work in the first quilt? Since I plan to make this quilt as well, I have been looking at my stash and I guess I need to go shopping for more lights.
love the diamonds -- have fun with your class - hope you enjoy it.

Hurrah for exuberant color! You've nailed it again, Wanda!
I love those diamonds! Fantastic colours.
I love the fabric choices on your top diamonds. Lots of sewing in this quilt. The pictures want me to make the quilt also. Oh, I am trying to stay away from fabric shops until I use up more of my stash but I may just give in.
Una maravilla!!!
Qué lindos contrastes!!!
Saludos argentinos!!!

Both are really lovely. Good choices in fabric and values. The Turning Twenty layouts are smashing!
really loving those diamonds. I have to try them! thanks so much for sharing!
I'm loving those bright fabrics in the diamond quilt.... and have made two quilts from the "Turning Twenty Just Got Better" book... one of which was the diagonal layout in green batiks... my grandson loves it!
Oh. My. Goodness! Those diamonds are just gorgeous!!! I knew they would be, but seeing them up on the wall - wow! You have truly outdone yourself on this one.
Your diamonds absolutely sparkle! That quilt will be a real gem! :-)
The diamonds are beautiful! And the Turning Twenty Just Got Better blocks are really nice. Cool pattern.
An exciting blog today ! Great work in progress for both pieces.
The brilliance of the diamonds to the softness of 'Turning Twenty', both have such charisma.

Hi--I made the Fassett quilt too, and when I got to the 5/16th's part I thought surely they must have been kidding. You have more contrast in your colors, which is really lovely. I used mostly Fassett fabric too, but some interweaving of the colors, and it still turns out to have the contrast, depth effect.
I've just started reading your blog and am so inspired by how fast you work and how productive you are. I have migraines too, and need to figure out something quilty to do when I feel yucky, like sort strips (I read in one of your past entries!)
Coincidentally, I taught a log cabin class last week, and have decided to arrange my sample blocks into the same design! I saw an old quilt in this arrangement and it's called 'Streak of Lightening variation'!
Your diamonds are so beautiful. I'd like to try this pattern too with the bright colors. Lovely, lovely, lovely!
Ok - as much as I dislike the idea of using a design wall myself... I love the way you play with the blocks to get completely different effects. you may eventually convert me here. =P
