The day before..............

I hate to do a post without a photo so here is another machine embroidery I did last week.  It is about 6" square.

Yesterday was sewing circle at church.  The sun was actually out in the morning although it never got warm.  My car thermometer said 28 degrees on the way home.  Yesterday was the day before the storm......the one that is supposed to start around 3 p.m. today and snow 3" an hour.  We got a little snow last night, and that was predicted to precede the big one.  Usually when they predict a really big storm we get very little so we'll see on this one.  It is going to affect a huge part of the country and I hope we aren't in the ice part of it.

  1. Nice embroidery Wanda. We are also the day before the storm up here. This one is a massive one and if it hits us it will be our first big one for the season. Fortunately I've made plans to work from home tomorrow. Stay warm and safe.

  2. I really like that embroidery. My daughter and I go back and forth about getting an embroidery machine. We have been hit by the first wave of this storm. In fact, that is why I have time to check in on your blog. I ventured out on the roads to get to work and had to turn around and come back home. The plow has only been down one side of the road, and not on "my" side. Got stuck, got out, and headed home!It just might turn into a 'free sewing day'!

  4. I am hoping that storm isn't as bad on anyone as is predicted.
I certainly hope we don't see any of it. Although temps are expected to drop. We have had enough ice and snow for two winters this year.

  6. Love the newest embroidery! Too cute! Where did you say your source was for these? We are also having the same storm. It began snowing around 4 am this morning and is to continuing snowing/sleeting/ice storm through Thursday at 1 am. Yuck!

  7. Love the cupcake! Do you have a separate machine set up strictly for embroidery? I find I do not use the embroidery capability of my machine very often because of the time it takes to set up for embroidery.

  8. Just love the embroidery! What a beautiful job! I think I'll get my embroidery machine set up and play...we are gearing up for 2 days of snow in NH.

  9. We are getting our coldest weather of the season so far (Central Texas). I'm not complaining, though, given what the rest of you have had to cope with this year. Everyone stay safe and warm!

  11. Beautiful machine embroidery. Your posts make me want to explore the world of batik quilting and embroidery.
Stay safe and warm during the storm. This one may miss us. I live in NC. We have had more than our share of bad weather this winter .... and it's only February 1.

  12. The cupcake is really has lots of beautiful colors in it. We are expecting the storm here in Iowa also. I agree with you that the worst storms are the ones not predicted so maybe we won't get much. Stay warm.

  13. That is just a gorgeous piece of work! And good luck with the snow. I'm down in Maryland and we're getting ICE today followed by all rain tomorrow. I think we're lucky on this one (fingers crossed).

  15. Nice cupcake, Wanda; it almost looks like a mola design. I'm not too far from Leslie, so we have the ice thing here too; teleworking today for sure!

Leslie, I visited your blog expecting to bury myself in it, but I skidded right off, LOL. You need to post some of your work, I know it's nice!

Today's secret word is unspeakable - smstur

  16. I hope you're not in the ice part either Wanda, but we are supposed to get ice. This seemed to make my daughter very happy as she envisioned the day off from school. Until I explained we could be sitting here in the dark freezing!

  23. that is one of the cutst embroideries i've ever seen. Just looked out the window here in Elburn and it is snowing really hard. a couple hours ago visibility was almost zero due to drifting snow. It hadn't begun to put the new stuff down yet. Hole up and sew............

  27. OK, I looked at the weather channel and it looked like the snow was on you. I hope you have no plans for going out.
I like your machine embroidery. I used to do a lot of it but quilting has taken over most of my time. I need to get back into it. Keep warm.

  28. Hi Wanda,
Looks like the storm is just as predicted.
Actually, they upped the amount of snow we may get to 12-18 inches by tomorrow morning. Will be hard to tell, though with the wind.
My uncle in Lawton OK has a driveway full of snow; they hardly ever get more than an inch.

Hopefully you are on the plow guy's list for snow removal tomorrow!
    Keep warm!
