I pulled out all of my green regular quilting fabrics (no batiks) and put one group together to make another Trip Around the World. I took several photos of the rest of the green fabrics in piles and they looked gray and blue and anything but green. I know red is hard to photograph because it is so saturated, but I thought green was easy, until yesterday.
As I started putting the fabrics back on the shelves, I pulled all of the pieces that were at least 6.5" wide but a quarter yard or less. I will cut these into 6.5" squares and the remainder into strips.
The mailman was kind to me yesterday.......
My critter of the day: an opossum. He was moving so fast I only got one photo that wasn't totally blurry. He was on a mission and didn't even stop to eat under the bird feeder.
I played with my embroidery machine and made a few of the mola type designs on a black patterned batik (embroidery library design).
A couple of you asked about the cookies (that I baked for the group who cancelled because of the weather). They were really good..............but most of them went into the freezer.
Fantastic choice of fabrics. I've made a green quilt recently, a Kaffe Fassett inspired one... I hope to finish it soon. Greetings from Italy, Tiziana
ReplyDeleteThose greens look so wonderful and fresh and make me think of spring!! Love the fabrics you got in the mail!
ReplyDeleteI've never seen an opossum -- they look rather cute.
Love all the greens! The mailman delivery looks familiar. Love them!! But I think my favorite thing here is the Mola inspired embroidery. I love molas and this take on them is just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the embroidery piece. It almost makes me think I want an embroidery machine. What type do you have?
ReplyDeleteYes, the mola embroidery is lovely. I love the trip around the world-what is the yardage of the pieces you pull for that?
ReplyDeleteI too am waiting for my quilting Arts magazine. It takes longer here in Canada. I really like the monochromatic color scheme.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful Mola embroidery! Wish I had a machine that could do that! Those greens are beautiful. They make me think of spring and will make a lovely TAW!
ReplyDeletelovely, lovely fabric. Opossums do move fast - here they like to eat the cat food if I forget and leave it out overnight. I tend to try to remember to bring it in before dark or we get skunks coming to eat too.

Love the green colorway you selected. I think it will be fabulous. All your magazines....now I see inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI got my QA magazine yesterday too. I love that magazine!!
ReplyDeleteYour greens look awesome. I can't wait to see it together.
Great style of embroidery.
ReplyDeleteWe have possums in our yard, too, and I give them lots of leeway because they can be mean. Guess it's tough to share your territory with people.
Wanda.... there needs to be a date on the calendar that is celebrated by just coming to your studio to just view your beautiful fabric..... love looking at it..... makes me want to take a trip to the quilt store!!
ReplyDeleteWhat could we name that special holiday? Wanday??

What a neat embroidery! I just finished my green quilt and it has gone it's way. You must have woods nearby, you have so much wildlife strolling through your yard. And yippee for mail goodness!!
ReplyDeleteGreen is my favorite color. I saw a quilt with a ton of different greens in it and it looked great. I'm going to try to do one like that. I hope I don't end up with a jumbled, mushy mess tho!
ReplyDeletelove the mola design...how do you plan to use it?
