I think the art quilters are coming today. The weather is still the boss so we'll see. I finished cleaning up the tables, baked the chocolate chip cookies and made 2 quilted journal covers that fit composition notebooks. Added 6:54 a.m.- Mother Nature won again, freezing rain predicted.....................no company!
Great journal covers, your ideas just keep flowing and flowing! It looks like you're not having problems with photos, maybe I'll go ahead and start posting them again.
Enjoy your art quilters today if they come... and remember to save me a cookie!
I have my fingers crossed that your group can meet today. My Friday morning group was canceled, not because of weather but for a funeral - we meet at a church and it was going to be full! Karen http://karensquilting.com/blog/
It was -8 last night when I went to bed and I woke up to snow. Winter be done! Can you freeze the cookies for next time? (I would want to eat them all.) Love your journal covers.
Darn weather! All that shovelling for nothing! At least you'll have lots of cookies to eat. It is snowing heavily here. I hope I will be able to get to my guild meeting tonight. Love your notebook covers!
Bless your heart! So glad you have COLOR to keep your spirits up! We haven't had any more snow and not nearly as cold as you guys. Just the same it feels cold to us. Spring will be so welcome.
What thread do you use in your quilting? Do you use the same in the bobbin and do you use the same thread on your longarm? It always looks so nice. Have you had a chance to play with your new micro handles yet?
Hi Wanda, Your journal covers and journal quilts are looking lovely-- do you write a little phrase or story on the back to document why you did what you did?
We're getting that freezing rain early this evening. Already the roads are slippery enough to have caused three expressway closures (due to multi-car accidents) this past weekend, and another one today. So it's good your group cancelled. I'm sure you'll have fun with your free day! Vicky F
It's super cold here too -- and we are not going out in it! We're supposed to get snow at some point -- so I'm hoping that means it's going to warm up!
We are extremely chilly here today! I don't think that I will be going out at all, if I can help it. Love the new journal covers.

ReplyDeleteThe winter continues on. Looking forward to spring and no snow.
ReplyDeleteWhat did you do with the cookies? Ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteOh, GRRReat, no company.
ReplyDeleteDoncha just hate when that happens.
Well, you'll just have to 'party' by yourself. Lots of time :)
Today is supposed to be mid-30s.
Hugs,
Gerry
Gorgeous covers!

Ilove that crazy log cabin block on the right. Lovely color choices.

Awww, guess you'll just have to do some more playing on your own. ;) I like those journal covers. You manage to make them look so easy.

ReplyDeleteHello Wanda,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog. I read it every day. Bless you!
Jean
Since the Art Quilters didn't come, you could send the cookies down here. We had sun but I spent the day in the studio having fun.
ReplyDeleteI hope your quilters get good weather for visiting soon! In the cold, dark days of winter, socializing with friends becomes even more important.
ReplyDeleteThe cover on the right, pseudo log cabin, is gorgeous. Have you made a quilt using this motif?
