Was anyone else dragging the day after Thanksgiving? I sure was. I managed to get a Trip Around the World quilt cut for a friend and sewed a couple more rows of my batik Winding Ways while I had some pep. I spent more time looking at quilt books than anything else.
You all convinced me yesterday to give the skeleton scraps I showed to my friend. She will be here on Monday, art quilters' day at my house. I will go on to the large scraps and yardage. Thanks for the help!!
You made the right decision about those scraps. I love the fabrics for the Trip Around the World! So nice of you to cut them for a friend. I had a lot of energy yesterday, but that is because I didn't eat any turkey the day before. (We already celebrated Thanksgiving last month) You probably ate too much of that triptophan-laden poultry.
ReplyDeleteWanda and Hetty, They say that isn't true now. LOL. It is instead that a noirmal Thanksgiving dinner with all the sides is over 4000 calories and that is what makes you so tired. Between the pie and all the salads and fixings I can see how that happens. I am a scrap saver and they can be overwhelming with the amount at times. Chris
ReplyDeleteNope, no dragging here. We were still at my parents house. And given the fact that I was quite restrained with how much I consumed on Thanksgiving, I think that might have lead to my pep. Although, I wish I could have been home to sew a little. However, we are home today and that is in the plan!! Love the strips!
ReplyDeletenice colors of strips that you have. I was dragging yesterday too and I didn't even cook on Thanksgiving.

Love those strips, is that a Negley fabric?
ReplyDeleteI had a very light dinner and didn't drag yesterday either, I had an early doctor's appointment. There were only 3 cars in the entire medical complex - his office was the only one open, LOL. Since I only went to the grocery store afterwards, I avoided the Black Friday crowds. Was able to get a good bit of sewing done [patting self on back]. Sew forth and sew on!
For someone who was dragging, you sure get a lot done. All I did was sit in a comfy chair and hand embroider for hours. Only got up for left-overs. Yum!
ReplyDeleteI got a little sewing done and some crocheting.
ReplyDeleteLove the range of fabrics for the new quilt.
I agree with Laura W. Your idea of dragging is most times my whole day of work. *L*
ReplyDeleteGlad you had such a nice Thanksgiving.
So now it is 2 days after Thanksgiving... and I do not know which way to turn... And now we have Christmas to look forward to... doing it all over again.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy studying your graduated color strips, seeing how each blends into the next piece of fabric.
re: yesterdays scraps... They sure make an artistic photo and I can see them being sprayed with an adhesive and pressed down on a sheet of art paper. They are so narrow... will your friend top stitch them into place ? Or how will she use them ? Tell her one of your blogging friends is really curious.

I NEVER drag or am let-down after Thanksgiving - I am always thrilled that the cooking is done, I have food in the frig., and won't have to cook for days, and have several days off! 8-))
ReplyDeleteGlad you are letting go of the skeletons ...
ReplyDeleteTransition ... Thanksgiving/fall to Christmas/winter ... always a challenge on a short time frame ...
I am still dragging!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the older you get the faster these holidays come again. It just feels like we just did this!!!
