Lost and found.......

It really does pay to sort through things now and then.  I decided to see what was in the bins below my cutting table because I'm always tossing strips into them when I'm cutting.  I found a ziploc bag with piles of 6.5" squares of purple batiks in one of the bins.  I remember now that I cut them when I was cutting the 2.5" batik strips to sell last year.  I can add some of these to the batch I just cut when cutting for the Winding Ways quilt.  I got all of the strips sorted that were tossed in there too.

I'm still sewing the rows on the log cabin quilt, 1 to go.  I haven't auditioned anything for the setting triangles yet.  I can't decide what color to try.  I'll have to figure out my yardage for the triangles first so I don't waste my time looking at pieces that are too small.

  1. I love such surprising finds. They are like unexpected presents! In my case (certainly not in yours!), an inclination to being messy and a little forgetfulness are quite helpful.

  2. I only make good finds like that once in awhile. Of course, now that I think about it, I only clean up the sewing bins and area once in awhile!!! LOL

  3. Finally able to get onto the site. The finds are always surprise and great when you do run across them. Less cutting to do. Chris

  5. I love purples and I have many of the same batiks you are showing. My problem is that I like them so well, I haven't cut any of them to sew.

  9. Hi Wanda,
Great find! I can't wait to see you start on the winding ways quilt; that one is on my "must do" list.

I meant to mention a couple days ago...
My coleus is extra tall, too. Really weird; it has to be the heat. I even pinched the middle to get it to branch out, but nope....it kept going straight up. Must be 2.5 feet tall right now.
    Keep cool.

  10. I love finding stuff in my stash. Kind of like Christmas! Purple batiks - can't wait to see what you make with them. I heard that purple is the 'in' colour this year.
