Corners solved..........

After I published the post yesterday I realized the corner triangle can just be 2 of the setting triangles sewn together.  Two of them will be like this where the rows join and corners are formed.  I will have to sew 2 triangles together for the others.
This is one of the corners that they will be sewn onto.

Did anybody question that block at the top that looks like it is going the wrong way?  It is the beginning of the next round of shimmering triangles and it doesn't look right turned the other way either.  I could have made 4 blocks that were 3/4 dark and 1/4 light and it would have been a perfect fit, but I like the quirkiness of it the way it is.  Check yesterday's post for the whole picture.

  1. I never realized that about the corner triangles, Wanda! Du-oh! Thank you for pointing that out.

  2. No I guess I didn't notice it! So that means it is just meant to be. Love the whole thing.

  3. I love the quirkiness too! I wasn't worried about the way those blocks were facing. It was the corners that bothered me. But you figured it out well. I love it!

  4. Great solution for the corners. It will give a nice mitered corner look. Until the darker fabric was added at the corners the light area wasn't noticeable. Since all the corners are the same, I think it looks great. By the way, I did not get the crabgrass pulled yet and it's suppose to get humid again this weekend. Oh well, I will just go with the flow and try to get it pulled at the next ideal opportunity.

  5. I didn't notice it either so it must look just fine to all of us! Usually if it looks wrong it will jump out at me.
    The quilt is beautiful!

  7. I only noticed the quirk when you pointed it out. I like it as it, but I have to admit that I would have loved it with the 3/4 blocks...

  8. As a beginner quilter, taken with Kaffe fabrics as well as batiks, I have found your blog most helpful because you show the process rather than just the end product. Your blog has helped more than any of the books that I have read so far. Thanks!

  13. Why, of course! Why haven't I ever thought of that? I probably won't remember it the next time I need it either!

  15. Wanda - how about publishing this as a pattern for all of us batik-lovers and not-so-savvy corner turning quilters? I know that I am ready to pull out my stash and I'll bet I'm not alone!
