I was so exhausted last night I couldn't do anything but look at my new book and watch CSI Miami.
The art quilters came and we had such a good time.
I went up to visit Dad in the evening and he is so much better already on the oxygen and whatever else they are doing for him. He still has the cough but not as often. I want to thank everyone for your prayers and well wishes.
I sold this colorwash background to one of my art quilter friends a few months ago. She brought it yesterday with her applique started on it. I love the fabric she used for the sunflowers. She just has it pinned on there right now so we'll probably see a lot of changes to it next month.
So glad your Dad is doing better!! I, too, am looking forward to receiving the book! What a beautiful quilt.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great use for that background! A real win-win situation: one person has the stash and the eye (and desire) to piece all those little squares and another person with the stash and the eye (and the desire) to do the applique. Will she be doing hand needle turn or machine stitching to apply the flowers? Sarah
ReplyDeleteWow! that colorwash background is exquisite.

Wanda the colorwash quilt is stunning! Did you design it or was there a pattern name that you can share with us?
ReplyDeleteThe colorwash is amazing. I love what she is doing with it.
ReplyDeleteJust read about your dad. So glad he is doing better.
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a brilliant expression of color. The flowers are really in detail, but the background has so much depth in the highlights. It is a wonder marriage of the two ideas. Chris
ReplyDeleteWanda, so glad you Dad is doing better. I will keep him in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteLove the sunflowers. The colors she choose for the petals, just work so wonderfully with the colorwash background.
